Posture and boots don't mean squat about race. Straight hair, maybe... but then again, she could be asian, hispanic or even black and still have straight hair.

I'm sorry you can only see this as "yet another white lady" when she's pretty much race agnostic. Stop reading too much into the lady.

Could be a dude... or... errrm ever been to thailand? :D
I remember some afro wearing silhouettes from iPod ads. Been a while though.

They better not kill off the iPod touch..

Why would they kill off the Touch? That is the iPod's current and future. The Classic is the only one under pressure, though I think it may get a stay of execution for another year.

All I really care about on Wednesday is new iPod Touches with at least a 48 GB capacity, so that I can put ALL of my music on one of them. Then I can finally get rid of these HD-based iPods (5G 60 GB iPod, 160 GB iPod Classic).

Have respect for amazing fidelity and buy the remastered CDS. Downloads won't be much cheaper (and they won't come to iTunes on Wednesday).

Amazing fidelity - maybe if they release SACD versions that day, otherwise I guess we can have respect for better fidelity than AAC anyway. Too bad the format is dead, but damn it sounded better than CD. :(

I'm excited for the event! :D

I highly doubt that they are having any type of big problem. It's not like Apple can't figure out how to put a camera on the iPods. Especially the SAME camera that is already in the iPhone lol. They might ship in a week or two at the worst probably.

I also am excited for a new iTunes. I just hope there is something cool besides stupid social networking features.

I'm hoping for an Apple TV update too, but I am not holding my breath. And I know the Tablet won't be out till next year.

That said, if a camera is causing problems then I have to question how they're finding out the night before their own event.
Due to the secretive nature of Apple, I wouldn't be surprised if there are some flaws/bugs that slipped by the few (if any) beta testers. iPods have quite a history of issues (buzzing noise on the 2G nano, misaligned screen on the 3G nano, screen issues on the 1G Touch, etc).

A slight delay would be fine, but the ZuneHD is peeking near the corner in less than a week.

HA! [shudder of recognition]

Okay, first: No, the Classic won't be discontinued. It will likely stay exactly where it is, because second: the Touch will only get bumped up to 64 GB. Since there's still demand for an iPod with higher capacity, the Classic needs to stick around. My guess is that by next fall, 128 GB NANDs (or whatever they use) will come down in price enough to put them in the Touches and discontinue the Classic. Third, I think that a delay seems pretty reasonable and might explain why TomTom delayed the release of their mounting kit for the iPhone. My theory is the Touch will get a GPS chip, and TomTom is holding off releasing the kit until everything is available (Maybe they have something in the documentation that mentions the Touch, and they need to keep it quiet until an announcement about a GPS chip in the Touch). But I'm totally reaching on that one.

If the ipods do get delayed at least Ill have my Zune HD to hold me over until I can get the ipod.

what?!!!!!!!! lol

i think the ipod classic will die.

R.I.P, it was a good 9 year run...

the future is the ipod touch.

I used to be one of those people who wondered who needed 80GB for their music.

Now I'm one of those people who needs the storage. As much as I love the iPod touch I can't use one as my main mobile media device until it holds 80GB or MORE.

I'd also love an iPhone with a 120GB hd too, now that I'm making demands!

I hope the classic stays around awhile longer if there is not a giant increase in storage for the touch. :apple:

It's interesting this about the timing of this and the Beatles. That Beatles Rock Star game looks like it's going to be a lot of fun.

With the remastered Beatles albums coming out and the Beatles Rock Band, I'm surprised there are no "Beatles on iTunes" rumors.

I won't lie, I would enjoy it if Apple respected us consumers and allowed third party music player support through iTunes. Let the hating begin, but I would love to take my music with me ANYWHERE on ANYTHING. Amazon has been picking up my business as of late...

What the hell's your point? Amazon sells CD's or MP3's. And they even import it right to your iTunes. You can use CD's for any media of your desire and MP3's of course already play on everything - so I don't see what your complaining about.

And if you want to use your AAC files anywhere else you can use Winamp or foobar.

I can't wait to see the new iPod Touch w/camera once it hits stores. Here's hoping that it'll ship with a 'HD' camera like Creative Vado HD or the Flip MinoHD.

Even if there is a production problem, I doubt the supply of iPods won't be more than a week away. They'll just announce now and ship in a few days right from the factory in Shanghai or wherever.

Why does it always have to be a white lady on the banner? :(

Because trolls like you don't grow on trees.

Actually, it's 10:00 PDT :p

(too used to 24 hour clocks, 10:00 cannot be confused with 22:00)

I don't see it as a problem in this case, I don't recall Apple EVER doing an evening event.

Ah, c'mon, look at 'em boots! Straight hair! Posture! Don't tell me, ya see a black lady there! :(

Another thing to ask, is *who* dances like that?! Pretty dorky looking to me.

Amazing fidelity - maybe if they release SACD versions that day, otherwise I guess we can have respect for better fidelity than AAC anyway. Too bad the format is dead, but damn it sounded better than CD. :(

If they made CDs without using dynamic range compression, I wonder how many people would be able to tell the difference.
