Uncheck "Copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library", and it will stop copying the movies there and read the files from where you keep them on your hard drive.

And if you want movies to play in a new window instead of that little thing, select: "Play videos.. in a seperate window"

See picture for exact location..

I love this update to be honest, can't wait till I get Tiger so I can use that syncing.

Of course there's always AirFoil if you don't feel like waiting.

Well that just streams audio from any application tor you speakers, what I was talking about was streaming video(and audio) directly to a tv.

Normal h.264 QT movies will play back just fine on your system, perfectly smooth.

It's just the high definition ones that need more processing power.

I realize this, some of the larger HD files such as the movie trailers lag a slight bit on my computer. The smaller ones (but still HD) such as the wildlife video Apple released looked great.

My point was the they look far worse and lag much more on iTunes than they do in Quicktime. I think that Apple still has some work to do if they plan on offering HD video through iTunes. But at this point it is anyone's guess what their master plan for this new video feature is.

Personally I would think it has more to do with a new APE than a new iPod.

iTunes is becoming bloated.

There is little reason for iTunes to be responsible for the iPod syncing*. iSync is for syncing devices, not iTunes! iTunes should be for media content only.

(* this is probably done for the benefit for windows users to automatically sync outlook contacts?)

but what is you still want itunes to organize your music.

basically if you want to play movie in itunes, you better be willing to give up some music features.

Possible, but if this was the case and they were to work with Microsoft, I wish they would allow you to sync with Entourage!

Agreed, I for one do not plan on downloading an update to itunes until it includes the option to keep ipod syncing in isync.

If you think your PowerBook plays HD video in H.264 perfectly smooth, you need your eyes checked. Maybe it runs them acceptable enough for you, as they do playback "okay" on my similar setup. However, "smooth" is definitely not the word.

PowerBook 15-inch
1.5GHz/1.5GB/80GB/Combo

To clarify, the video I was doing the comparison with was 960x540. In looking at Apple's HD page, I now realize that this is one of the lowest res videos they have up there.

Still, my point remains, iTunes video doesn't hold a candle to Quicktime.

no iTMS Australia at the moment (not a joke!)

Has anyone read the fine prints on www.apple.com/itunes/download ???

"Purchases from the iTunes Music Store are available only in Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States"

Australia isn't mentioned - which makes clear that Apple had to delay iTMS AU once again.

On the other hand, it's now clear that Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland will have their stores within the next couple of days.

And in other news.........YYYYAAAAWWWWWNNNNNN.

Until I get the ability to selective determine what codec/bit rate gets loaded to my iPods and does on the fly conversions for me, I am annoyed.

iTMS opening in Sweden!!!!!

I don't know if this is related, but...
According to Swedens largest business newspaper (www.di.se) iTMS is opening in Sweden tuesday at midnight. Our local radiostations are currently giving out downloads on iTMS, so it looks like this is it.
iTMS FINALLY is opening in Sweden!!
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!! :D :D :D

It doesn't show up in Software Update. Is Apple rolling it out slowly across the country?
