Apple is holding a press conference in Zurich tomorrow at 11.30 a.m. It's now clear that the stores (probably all of those mentioned - Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland) WILL INDEED go online tomorrow!

Movie iPod?

I added the Batman trailer to my iTunes collection then synced my iPod. I received an error message letting me know that I couldn't sync the video to my iPod because "this" iPod doesn't play such files.

and just this morning I was thinking Apple needs a video jukebox.

I love it, I'm waiting for H.264 video in that box, I love it.

Does adding a movie copy it to your home folder? If it does, that would seriously suck. No?

does the contact sync thing work with pc's? just curious.. also, now that itunes plays video.. i smell a deal between apple and perhaps a big movie company to support movie payed downloads... maybe not syncing to ipod but at least playing in itunes and stuff

does anybody know what the new Music Store features are that iTunes 4.8 claims to have?

Last time they said this, wasn't it code for "We've broken Hymn (and/or PyTunes) again"?

Any Hymn users out there care to comment - are your songs being deleted from iTunes or your iPod?

Update: Several readers note that the latest version of iTunes supports video playback -- which is a new feature in iTunes. Obviously, users are speculating about long-running thoughts of a video version of the iTunes Music Store and Video capable iPods.

iTunes 4.7.1 also seems to support video playback on OSX 10.3.9

I've seen a couple of clips from Apple's site launch an iTunes viewing window and play.

may be an obvious question, but since you don't say... which ipod did you try? was it an iPod photo?

Hmmm, how did I miss that... well, well, now they are opening...at last. I wonder how much they will charge? Any idea?

well, if the sneak-peakers are right, it's going to be 1.50 Fr. per song and between 10 and 15 Frs. for an album - which is more or less the same as in the Eurozone stores. I suppose it's going to be the same in the other new stores as well.

I notice that my Applescript to import music videos from the iTunes Music Store no longer works.....

That would be € 0.99, right?
I am a bit surprised that Apple keeps a low (extremely low) profile about this. It is hard to make any business if none knows you are around.

I'm not upgrading until they support playing videos on my iPod.

(unless you can't tell, I'm kidding ;))

In the Norwegian store the price was NOK 8 (€ 0.985) for a song... not too bad considering it includes 25% sales tax... :)

Another iTunes Music Store Australia rumour another let down, I think I'll file ITMS Australia under the same catergory as Duke Nukem Forever.

/me loves the smell of vapor in the morning.

Oh well here's to the next round of ITMS Australia rumours!

Has anyone tried playing Apple's HD sample movies they put up for H.264.

Yikes, image quality is poor (compared to QT), and it lags up bad. I tried it in windowed mode and it locked up. Not good at all, I am guessing this is meant for lower quality videos, music videos maybe?

on my 667 powerbook the movies arent smooth but the "image quality" is superior to anything ive ever seen on the web OR tv.

and on my girlfriends iMac G5 the movies are smooth and breath taking. H264 quicktime is shocking. i showed my friend and his jaw dropped as we watched the bald eagle wildlife movie on his 30" cinema display.

my help is broken in itunes 4.8.. wtf... like i can't search, or click any of the links in help at the first screen i see..

Well... I must say there was absolutely no apparent differences from 4.7.1 (30) to 4.8 (31). Really a non-event...

Now, where are my playlist folders and ability to use aliases for the same version of songs on different albums...???

You hit two of my big three. No. 3: A 99-cent credit toward an album for any track you purchase from that album. I'm not expecting this, but I think it would make me stop dodging certain albums because I want to get the whole thing later instead of one track now.

I've been hovering the new Aimee Mann and Nine Inch Nails albums for this exact reason.
