If you don't have a quartz extreme capable graphics card, don't install this.

Worked fine on my wife's Sawtooth. No restart necessary, all worked fairly slick.

Ive already done that. Clicked on the Artwork and told it to download and nothing. Quit iTunes and got back in.

Same thing is happening to me (Windows version).

Here is the weird part. For exmale,

I have some of the same CD's on my PC and Mac. Under iTunes 7 in Mac, for Star Wars Episode 3, I dont get an Artwork. Same freakin album that I ripped from the CD that I own, so not some weird download crap, it shows the Album Art. Now i went under info, their both labeled the same exact way!

Edit:

WOW, on my Mac, it was called SW Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
on my PC, Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.

On both, it was under Star Wars Grouping, Artist was John Williams, Composer the same and it couldnt find on the Mac cause it was SW.. But that still dont answer why it still cant find almost 80% of the artists and almost 95% of the material I got on my Mac are entire CD's, so not just random 1 song here, 2 song here

Crap! I just realized they got rid of the equalizer button also! That was by far the iTunes button I used the most. Every time I switch between my headphones and the internal speakers I change the equalizer setting. And as far as I can see they don't even have a key command to open the equalizer! Dude, that sucks! I can probably setup a custom key command, but seriously, taking away a button for a frequently used feature and not even giving it a key command is lame!

I just realized one thing that's still missing from iTunes: A queue. I still can't select a song to play afterwards when in the middle of another.

Meh, I'll live.

Hhhmm. I rather enjoy movies so I dunno, I dont think I really agree with a single point you've made

Wow, I agree with all of his points. Check out Verizon's Fios offerings in the link below. It is $39 per month for basic Fios which is about 200 channels and you get free on demand shows (including those from premium channels) and pay per view movies instantly. On Demand means that there is no download time at all. How can the cable/phone companies do this? They control the bandwidth which is about 15Mbps for Fios (Fiber Optic Lines). The cable/phone companies just don't have huge libraries of content yet but they will. Lastly, the cable/phone companies don't need a wireless device to stream media to your TV because they are already in your TV. Movies on the iTMS and Amazon Unbox Store are toys by comparison and in Apple's case are just gimmicks to sell hardware. I love Apple but I am just telling it how it is.

Oddly enough this helped me grab the proper artwork for one album, but not the next. I assume the album art server is getting hit harder than the iTunes upgrade server.

I'm giving iTunes 7 a big thumbs up. it looks GREAT and I love the fact that album art is actually integrated in a meaningful way now. Kudos to the cover flow guys.

I also hope the scroll bars become standard across OS X, after 5 years the jelly beans have gotta go.

Sorry but I disagree. If this comes to pass as a standard UI I hope they will have the foresight to allow changes to the UI in system prefs. As of right now iTunes does not respond to the system preferences in a standard way. If they are going to change things like this, it would be helpful to allow those of use who prefer the blue to keep it that way. There are times when working in the "pro" apps I prefer the grey flat scroll bars but when using the rest of the system for office type things I really prefer the blue "aqua". So as I said before the best would be to offer a UI preference for changing everything from either the flat grey (pro) look or aqua.

So, you don't actually read the thread, just post in it...? That has been mentioned at least a couple of times, in this thread alone...

I admit it, I never read all 10 pages of replies in a thread. I bet the vast majority of people don't read every post in a thread once it gets over 5 pages long.

How many times have you watched each one of those DVDs? Because at the iTMS prices you would have to watch them about 4 times each before renting wouldn't be a better deal. There are only a few movies in my 300+ DVD collection that I have watched more than 4 times and if I can get them on demand anytime I really could care less if I have a hard copy...That being said, I bought most of my movies for $5 previously viewed from Blockbuster so only Netflix would be a better deal in that case.

I know you like to own the physical media but if what you are buying is actually the content not the disc then it doesn't make much sense with on demand available. Sorry, that last part was just my opinion which I should have labeld with a disclaimer I guess.

itunes 7 on pc deletes some files?

I just noticed that after installing iTunes 7 on my PC that I am missing the free tv show i had downloaded Eureka.

I'm glad it was a free one and not one i really wanted to see. but when i click on it it says that it cannot be found would you like to locate the file etc, and it has no album art.

The installationt took a really long time and the status during installation at various times said it was erasing old files.

I'm wondering if anything else is missing from my library. I really wouldn't know because it's rather large.

Anyone heard of this?????

That's what Party Shuffle is for...

Start playing a song in Party Shuffle, then go to another playlist (or the library itself) and right/ctrl-click any song(s) and you can Add them to the (bottom of the) Party Shuffle or even Play Next in Party Shuffle...

That is a feature that I would love to see, I know you have a playlist to do that stuff, but still...

Would be great for parties, become a DJ and your mates can do it too

Some ive watched once and some 10 times. To me, its not the point of the price but a few more things. Behind the scenes is huge for me, no online renting or ondemand will give you that.

Plus a nice collection, if friends, family, date comes over, a nice selection to choose from, pop it and be good. Plus, then I can take that medium from my PC to my Mac to my Laptop, to the home theater or in the car. Will a Rental or OnDemand or iTunes offer me that?

Mystery Solved
The reason iTunes will not find album artwork is that it seaches I guess by Album Name. If you have in any shape or form altered the Album name, it will not find it.

For example, I have all the Final Fantasy video games soundtracks. Well, from 3-11 anyways and then concertes and so forth. iTunes will not put them in order if i list them Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII, Final Fantasy IX and so I went through and did Final Fantasy 7, Final Fantasy 8 and etc, (same for SW) and so now iTunes will see all the info is right except the album name and wont give it to it

The same for my Matrix albums for example. I have under just Marix (not reloaded or Revo even) for Albums:
The Matrix (this is just random music not listed under ST)
The Matrix Orchistrated (what it says)
The Matrix OST (Original Sound Track)

and so it see's the title for it is changed and wont assign any form of Album Art. and for whatever reason, iTunes dosent even have Animatrix, The Matrix Reloaded or The Matrix Revolution.

What I still cant figure out though is why iTunes will take 1 album and try to assign it Artwork for each different track or have them clustered into a few, like Tracks 1-5 and then 6,7,8-11, even though they all share the same info for Album, grouping, genre and sometimes composer and artist. This is just under Album view, under normal, its well...normal lol

Oh really? Huh, so Party Shuffle does have a practical use after all! Thanks, I'll give that a try now!:)

Oh yeah.

First thing I did after I did the upgrade was go to The Cars first album and started playing "Bye Bye Love" and let it play.... gapless playback, just like how it should be.

I didn't see an option for this in Preferences. I'm assuming it's automatic.

I have been waiting for this feature forever. Now, I can listen to my opera albums as one opera rather than a collection of arias and recitatives.

Yes, with a $5 cable and a laptop (assuming we are talking about downloads) but you do have some very good points. There are some good advantages to digital or online libraries as well...For example, being able to instantly sort or find a movie by a specific criteria. My DVDs are alphabetized but I woudn't mind being able to just search a list for all of the action movies with Bruce Willis in them etc. I know you can do this with Delicious Library or other apps but I wouldn't mind it integrated into my library or more appropriately their library which I can access instantly for a small fee. Also, extras would be very easy for them to add but they just haven't yet because all of this is in its infancy.
