Just checked under Preferences and the Importing option has disappeared, there's no way to change audio format, bitrate etc... Is anyone else experiencing these bizarre obscurities?

Woo, that AAC setting better be 320kbit. If not, I am not upgrading. Can anyone confirm?

Edit: It is still there, one less thing to worry about. Now if they'd just FIX THE ARTIST SORTING....

I have to go to the General tab (no longer on Advanced), click on Import Settings, choose the Codec I want (AAC, Apple Lossless, MP3, AIFF, & WAV appear), then choose Custom from the Settings and change to my hearts content.

I just tried to download the HD version of the first episode of season 4 of Battlestar Galactica (it's free, so check it out). But I got the SD version instead. Grrr...

Here's a new one...no "Consolidate iTunes" option anymore either...I used that a lot too.

Redacted: It's under "File-Library-Consolidate Library"

Whoops, UI changes suck, but I would like to remove links to the itunes store.I hardly ever use it.

I can't check it right now but I hope this is a joke.....wow.....I can't believe they took that out, so now I have to download some 3rd party app just to convert files into formats I want? I am an audio engineer and I have used itunes for years converting files to different formats, what a sad day

No. General->Import Settings.

You people need to calm down and learn to look through the preferences before getting outraged.

HD, Yeah not for the rest of us!!!!

Just checked the itunes store for UK, and np HD TV Shows,

Just looked on apple site uk, and the itunes page has changed and the HD TV shows has been removed. Come on apple don't get our hopes up and not follow through.

Us brits want the HD even if it is overpriced. About time we were treated the same as the Yanks, I am really F***ED off Now GRRRR

I just wanted to reply :)

PROTIP: use the search in Help... menu. It really helps a lot.

Runs really great on Windows. Used to feel slow and unresponsive but it feels like quite the opposite now!

for real people. why dont you look through stuff before you start swearing off apple forever? i cant stand that crap. take 5 minutes out of your day to look at menus before you start ranting. its sad really....

testing genius playlists at the moment. i'm not liking it much. it produces some weird results:

mötley crüe - shout at the devil > neil young - heart of gold

tom waits ballad > hard rocking wolfmother

it does not keep a very nice pace.

Looks like Apple cleaned up the menus and preferences a little bit, reorganizing where stuff is listed.

Loving every moment with iTunes 8. No issues at all and the improvement & new features definitely work well for me.

I know it's not quite what you're asking, but you can disable the iTunes Store in the Parental Controls pane.
The arrow links will go away, as well as the iTunes Store, unfortunately.

that genius bar is terrible.... I hardly ever buy any CD *cough* *cough* but that reccomendation is so tempting... hell I will maybe buy my first CD from iTS

(but yeah, I will have to lie to apple anyway, I'm not from US so I had to make up some US address to register on US iTS)
