Product is shown over and over again in short snippets with catchy tunes and attractive people (mostly). Nobody ever lost their job for putting together an advertising campaign with those elements. Not a masterpiece, but effective.

I like the ad. I disagree that it doesn't matter that it doesn't say iTunes til the end. It has a hook - most soda bottles don't burst into song and remember it's got more to do with promoting Pepsi than iTunes.

What I particularly liked is the nod to the iPod adverts when they are in the club. There's the silhouette of a dancing woman there which is very familiar. I also wonder if the Garageband might be a little in-joke. :D

If the ads start getting too technical, it'll put people off. So no mention of itunes.com is a good thing.

Not good, but not terrible either. Just ho-hum.

One problem - NO APPLE LOGO. How on earth did Jobs sign off on that?

Sure it gets people to iTunes.com, but the Apple brand in there would not only help Apple, but help Pepsi EVEN more as they try and keep their brand as "young and hip". That is what Apple is screams right now (whether you like it or not).

Anyone have it up anywhere else? The file is broken now (I believe it was set up at a .mac page).

Unless somehow my Firefox/IE abruptly doesn't want to play .mov files.

differentdistrict.com has it up too now.

I like it, but I would have prefered if they had normal people drink the pepsi, put the music on their iPod, then they turn into a dancing siolette, that would have been cool. I think they missed a huge hook since they didn't have the iPod in it.

There are already myths that using the iTMS requires that you buy an iPod. You only need the iPod to take your iTMS purchases music on the go hassle-free (unless you still use a CD player). I think it's good that they left out iPod/Macs/Apple, because this is not an Apple promotion, it's a Pepsi promotion. IIRC, Apple gets full value for Pepsi songs redeemed, and they count towards total songs sold. Apple is only involved insofar that it is their product Pepsi is purchasing to give away as a incentive to buy their soda.

i like it. i think it is pretty clever and miles and miles better than last years (though that isnt hard to do!)

does any one know if apple purschaed a superbowl ad spot this year. That would be really cool, both the pepsi ads and an apple add.

I like the commercial. I am interested to see what the others look like. Hopefully this promotion will be more successful than last time.

nice ad, but I really miss the nice apple logo... But there is still hope that it will be included in the other ones...

It was so cool!!

LOL I wish that i could hear music when i open up the cap on a pepsi bottle!!

It is about time Apple starts spending some of that cash on ads. We need as many people to learn about this great company and the many cool products.

Have you watched regular television and Sportscenter??...Apple ads are EVERYWHERE. They finally opened up their wallet...

What no Janet Jackson?

I was expecting Janet Jackson to be holding a bottle of diet pepsi and singing a U2 tune when... (all of sudden there is a wardrobe malfunction) only to reveal an iPod thumbwheel as a breast pastey.
:D :D

Apple is involved in FOUR superbowl ads, a record.

Apple has GENERAL CONSUMER products in the three low-end iPods.

- Marketed by web
- Marketed by a wide retail store network.
- Marketed by WAL-MART
- Marketed by BEST BUY
- Cross-marketed by Pepsi

Apple has a LOW PRICED PC which is designed to plug into PC or Mac user environments.

- Marketed by web
- Marketed by a wide retail store network.
- Marketed by BEST BUY

Gee, I wonder why the stock is up by hundreds of percent?

Stock pundits have Apple (AAPL) targeted for $100.00 within a year. Many say that is conservative.

Apple could have afforded to BUY ATT (T) if it chose.

I like the idea in the commercial, that your tune is physically IN your bottle. So why does the music stop when an open Pepsi is knocked over as the garage band plays? Does the music only come out when the neck is facing up? Somebody needs to read the technical specs on these fictional music-playing bottles.

I don't think the song actually stops in the garage band sequence, rather it doesn't play properly somewhat like a record player's needle becoming stuck.

No they haven't. I was in a busy store, so couldn't check before buying yesterday. But after I got out to the car I did the tilt trick and could clearly see that both bottles I bought were marked with "play again". I am now 0 for 3 thank you very much.

PS - The tip trick doesn't seem to work on colored bottles. No matter how I tipped the Mountain Dew bottle, I couldn't make out any letters underneath. Of course it was my other "please play again"

OH! colored bottels do work!!! I so far have been 3 for 3 with my mountain dew bottels and my sister has been 2 for 2. I must say i am gettin VERY good with it, i can just pick it up and in about 3 secs (no lie) i can tell if i have a winner. If not im back to picking up random bottels (so many people give me weird looks it hillarious sp?)
