Sounds a bit like Last.fm but not as good

Couldn't agree more, I love last.fm. I use the app on my iMac, Nexus One and iPod Touch.

All of the benefits of discovering new music, getting free downloads via the podcast features and sharing musical tastes, without all the Facebook Farmville, mafia wars or whatever crap app someone constantly invites you to...:cool:

I suppose it's good for people who insist on using Facebook. But it won't change the fact that I don't/won't.

If I wouldn't join to see photos of my niece, I'm sure as hell not going to join to be bored by people's currently playing song.

P.S. I don't find iTunes to be "bloated". Everything in there serves a purpose. And even if they add Facebook into it, it's just something I won't use.

I just got an email about being able to check my facebook status on my AT&T/Yahoo email and now Apple in itunes. I'm already thinking about leaving Facebook and the last thing I need is them connected to another aspect of my life.

Facebook, has serious issues and I would rather not deal with them any more than I have to.

Agreed. They should really expand it's ability to play, you know, media. FLAC, avi, DivX, Xvid, etc. The Internet doesn't revolve apple formats, and I'm never going to buy anything from the iTunes store.

i second that! i freaking hate MP4 and the wank quality after downloading and converting the films (i own the DVDs just faster to download then convert on my MBA lol)! but something that does really piss me off when people buy Movies/TV Shows from iTunes - 1. HD MP4 is wank compared to MKV Container, 2. why the hell would i pay £10.99 for The Simpsons Movie (example) when the damn thing is £4 in HMV for crying out loud!

sorry about the rant, but seriously, some people have more money than sense. in addition, iTunes needs to be able to run films within the program better, and not freeze when i connect my freaking iPhone!

You're not alone with this...

Double yes. I'd rather have the ability to organize my ePub books the way I want within the iTunes rather then this.

I may be a minority, but I actually enjoy iTunes as one-stop centre for all my multimedia. I want it to improve its core rather than add more useless teen stuff (no offense to the teens here).

Having said that though, the absolute longest thread on one of the rather serious politicized forums I used to frequent was called "what are you listening to right now?"

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7E18 Safari/528.16)

Apple should build some Facebook connec right into the iPhone and ipad os (or create a competing social repository). Part of the popularity of facebook games (and xbox ones) is that they allow you to compete with friends with a centralized database of user icons and scores. Farmville and mafia wars wouldn't be as popular if I couldn't see a cousin or friend's score to compete with.

When will apple stop adding more rubbish 'features' to iTunes? Surely the program needs to go on a massive diet or, even better, split it into multiple programs.

I also get the impression that people are getting tired of Facebook taking over the world.

The bigger facebook gets and the more everything becomes integrated with it the more I stay away.

I'm just happy they didn't force an iPad icon for facebook that you can't remove like they did for some of the other applications in both the iPad and iPhone. I mean really. If you are gonna add them, let us delete them if we don't want. Reminds me of buying an old PC and getting 6 IP providers "sign up" now crap on your desktop........
