Yeah, let me stick an expensive piece of tech in my back pocket and let it hang out where I can't see it. Then, let me go avail myself of public transportation.

Yeah, this is one of those "blame the victim" situations.

I've yet to figure out why people cram their phone in their back pocket. Back pockets are for wallets!

Wow, maybe the OP should be cited, the way he/she's being castigated.

You bet!

I don't see how any of those analogies pertain to this situation. Also, I couldn't care less was in response to the "human decency" comment. I just tell it like it is.

I've never understood why people keep their phones in their back pocket. Especially a long iphone 6 Plus that screams "HEY LOOK AT ME!"

Glad it didn't get stolen, OP. Now it is time to figure out some other place to put your phone while you are on the bus.

And in other news:

Man arrested after getting shot because he was in a bad part of town. "What do you expect?"

Woman arrested after getting sexually assaulted while wearing hot pants and a bikini top. "What do you expect?"

Poster claims not to care but cares enough to post anyway.

I "expect" people to obey the laws. I "know" that not all will. Adequate precautions should be taken, dictated on a case-by-case basis.

Common sense indeed, up to and including victim-blaming I guess.
This. My favorite part was being quoted by someone who seems too hostile to see when someone agrees with them.

XshrugX I guess I'm just too calm and level.

I would have thought iPhones are the least desirable phone to nick considering how easy it is to block them remotely. I probably would have punched the chap had I caught him in my pocket. I can't see a reasonable explanation for that lol.

I appreciate your contribution to the growing problem of apathy and indecency. May we never meet in person.

I always keep my phone in my front pocket. I have designated pockets for my carry on and have for years. That way if it's not there, I immediately notice.

Good thing that gentleman made you aware or you would be phoneless by now.

What good is a stolen iPhone 6 to anyone, though? With activation lock, it'll make a half-decent paperweight, but not much more.

There's never been a time in human history when people wouldn't screw over other people for their own personal gain. There probably never will be.

That's not true. It's very common, but decent and honorable people do and have existed throughout human history. The bad apples just get more press.

Will cargo pants come back in style, so people can place their iPhablet 6 in the side pocket?

You misunderstand me. I didn't mean that there haven't always been good people, just that there always have been and always will be bad ones. All that changes is the ratio.
