It comes down to priority. What's worth more to you? Comfort when sitting down (not sure how having the 6+ in your front pocket would make it less comfortable, or getting your $750+ new phone stolen?

Ladies are better off carrying small purses and keeping their phones in there, men pick pants with larger pockets. There are ladies out there that complain that female pants usually have unusable small pockets or fake pockets. So take advantage of what's available for you to wear.

Be careful. If in public in a tight space. Definitely either have it in your hand or on your body or of sight. There are some thieves in this world. Unfortunately

Thank goodness for that.
Some of the news we hear about here about shootings in the States is bad enough as it is. I could see Apple getting the blame for this too :p

deterence. would you try to take a phone from a pocket when a 9mm is right next to it?

I wear slim pants. i sat with my 6+ in my front pocket most of the day and that includes commuting back and forth to my office. Im 6'3 and 190 lbs. I dont understand how the OP didnt think he could sit with it in his front pocket.

Yeah people are pretty sneaky... About 3 weeks ago I was at a music festival and within a minute of me walking from the bathroom to the stage, someone had taken my 5S out my FRONT pocket without me even noticing. Probably while trying to get through the crowds. Always hold onto your phone when you're in a crowded situation like that!

Ftw!

What good is a stolen iPhone 6 to anyone, though? With activation lock, it'll make a half-decent paperweight, but not much more.

The screens alone are worth over $300 on the resale market right now. Contrary to popular belief, Activation lock doesn't really deter these phone snatchers, just prevents them from actually using the phone.

Why are they worth $300 when Apple will replace broken screens for $110?

Yeah my thoughts too. It's a world away from where I am from I must admit.

I'm not from the UK so can't relate unfortunately.

When I worked at a grocery store in Massachusetts this guy would come in with a gun holstered to his belt.

He'd brush his jacket away to hike up his pants and show off the gun.

Did nothing but make me feel uncomfortable that the potential to be shot had been introduced into the local market :(

Really? And you think the potential of being shot would go down if that guy wasn't there?

Because everyone else, including the actual bad guys who would shoot you, and who hide their guns, they of course wouldn't shoot you. I mean, as long as you don't actually SEE them carrying a gun...

"I open carry. If someone wants to get shot they can try."

This comment is insane :(

Nutty maybe, but really. Who would actually try to steal an iPhone from someone open carrying a firearm? Now THAT would be insane.

----------

... I would feel uncomfortable sharing space on a bus with somebody carrying a gun and would much rather be around people wishing to dip into my pocket lol.

Let's see. Criminals tend not to carry openly. They don't want to attract attention to themselves. So the chances are you are sitting next to a lawful carrier, who has had a background check and no criminal history.

But you'd rather sit around thieves. Ok, that makes total sense.

Oh, no. It's happening again. I'm getting dragged into a forum debate. No I'll resist.

Good point!

Your logic is flawless! Thanks for the input. Bye now :)

You have to understand I don't come from a country where people carry guns like others would carry a mobile phone. The likelihood is I do rub shoulders on public transport with thieves, we just don't know about it. What we do do is take measures like carrying phones in internal pockets and not flash devices about in area's where you could get pick pocketed or mugged. Its a sad state of affairs but this is the modern world.

Yes I would rather be around potential thieves who might want to dip into my pocket because that is just an unfortunate thing you get in busy towns and cities. Give me that any day over have a go hero's who have the ability to dish out what they might perceive as instant justice and possibly a dangerous situation for anybody near by. No thanks, I'll keep my iPhone safe in my pocket and enjoy a gun free society. :)

Thanks, although I am careful and luck doesn't really come into it. If somebody wants my phone that bad, they can have it. I won't risk my life or anybody else's over a mobile phone that can be easily replaced. :)

Ynwa man.

Anyways, if I'm putting my phone in its back pocket I'm probably listening to music so I'll know if someone makes a jab for it. If not, it's always going to be in its front pocket.

I should have seen this one coming....

I work in a downtown area where I take the bus each morning. As this was my first morning commute with my new iPhone, I tried to figure out the best place to put it. Front pocket wouldn't allow me to sit down and laptop case wouldn't allow me to know if I get a text from the family, so I put it in my back pocket.

I get on the bus and it's standing room only. No big deal. We are about 1-2 minutes to the downtown bus terminal when a kind older gentlemen sitting in the seat beside me says "hey, you might want to turn around". So I quickly turn around and I catch some guy red handed, arm stretched out toward my back pocket. He quickly puts his hand in his jeans pocket like nothing happened. I figured either he was trying to get fresh or grab my 6+ and run off the bus. I hold my hand against my back pocket until we pull in to the terminal. When I get to my office, I notice that the top edge of the gold does stick out of my pocket about 1/4 of an inch...

I'm not sure if I should return the + and get the 4.7 inch or just get bigger pants. If the Apple Watch was out, I would figure just leaving it in my laptop bag would be fine.

Anyone else had anyone try to swipe their phone yet?

I hope you thanked the old man for making up for your short comings.

Open (or conceal) carry doesn't give you the right to just shoot anyone for anything you feel did you wrong..

I've taken the safety course.. And I think most people just block this part out for some stupid reason:

"Don't EVER put yourself into a situation you normally wouldn't go into just because you have a open/conceal carry permit.."

I can't believe how many people don't do this and end up getting in trouble...

I dont understand anyone whos having trouble fitting the 6+ in their front pocket.

For god sakes I wear a size 29/30 Slim fit dress pants and skinny everyday pants, and it fits perfectly.

What is everyone's problem?

This is exactly what I was thinking. I am a small guy at 5'9 140lbs and I have zero problems fitting my 6 Plus in any of my pants. One of my slimmer jeans the corner is just barely exposed in front pocket but it still isn't a problem while sitting or anything like that.
