I think shooting somebody dead for attempting or even stealing your phone is rather over the top lol. A civilised world demands a civilised response.

All depends on HOW they steal it. Was it at knife point? I'm shooting them. They have a gun? Same. Covertly? Then nah, not going to chase after them shooting...

If they use deadly weaponry to steal, so will I to defend.

Not only is it legal, but it's their moronic choice to begin with. People who defend thieves in the name of civility are the problem. Don't like it? Try and rob me at knifepoint and see how it works out. Criminals are mostly armed. I am too. Only fair methinks.

I carry everywhere I legally can. I have hundreds of hours of training though, and do believe anyone that does should too. I'm not going to have it "used against me" lol... That statistic relies on people who buy a gun only to never use it. Mines so used an Apple fanboy would blame Glock for all kinds of cosmetic defects haha...

If that works where you are from then all the power to you then. We live in very different societies by the sounds of things and thankfully we haven't reached the point where we need to walk around armed just in case. :)

Open (or conceal) carry doesn't give you the right to just shoot anyone for anything you feel did you wrong..

I've taken the safety course.. And I think most people just block this part out for some stupid reason:

"Don't EVER put yourself into a situation you normally wouldn't go into just because you have a open/conceal carry permit.."

I can't believe how many people don't do this and end up getting in trouble...

Great point.

People often try to justify open carry laws with anecdotes about heroes saving people from criminals because they chose to carry a weapon at all times.

Not every story ends well though.

I heard one where the guy pulled out his gun, fumbled it, and was shot and killed by the gunman.

Blimy good job that kind old fella told you. When i got my iPhone on saturday the guy said be careful of thieves as it will be a a very wanted item by them.

I should have seen this one coming....

I work in a downtown area where I take the bus each morning. As this was my first morning commute with my new iPhone, I tried to figure out the best place to put it. Front pocket wouldn't allow me to sit down and laptop case wouldn't allow me to know if I get a text from the family, so I put it in my back pocket.

I get on the bus and it's standing room only. No big deal. We are about 1-2 minutes to the downtown bus terminal when a kind older gentlemen sitting in the seat beside me says "hey, you might want to turn around". So I quickly turn around and I catch some guy red handed, arm stretched out toward my back pocket. He quickly puts his hand in his jeans pocket like nothing happened. I figured either he was trying to get fresh or grab my 6+ and run off the bus. I hold my hand against my back pocket until we pull in to the terminal. When I get to my office, I notice that the top edge of the gold does stick out of my pocket about 1/4 of an inch...

I'm not sure if I should return the + and get the 4.7 inch or just get bigger pants. If the Apple Watch was out, I would figure just leaving it in my laptop bag would be fine.

Anyone else had anyone try to swipe their phone yet?

Bold text..

Sooo... no front pocket because it won't allow you to sit, but putting it in the back pocket will? Explain this to me please, help it makes some sense for my simple mind.

Since I'm technically a dog, I always hold my phone in my mouth. No one ever dares to try to steal it from me when my owner takes me for a walk.
