Ivyskin Reception Case - shipping confirmation?

I hated mine. Enough said. I was hoping to get a decent product after such a long wait -- but that didn't happen.

I guess I'll just stick with the PixelSkin HD until my Grove case comes in.
 
Well, I did take my bodyguardz back off and put the one that came with the case on-it did improve the watermarking tremendously.

Thanks for the advice.
 
Don't let these positive reviews fool you. This case is complete crap. Creak or no creak this case does not fit right. No matter how many times you put this on it just leaves you feeling that the case just doesn't fit. The watermarking problem on the back of the case should be enough reason not to buy this case. It doesn't take a Nasa engineer to figure out that had they brought the sides up a little more to make it more of snap on case so that there was minimal contact between the back of the case and the back of the phone this probably would have resolved the watermarking problem. This case also damaged the invisible shield on the back of my phone. BTW I made the mistake of purchasing two of these cases and they both suck. I can't even use these as a paperweight or a door stop, that's how useless these things are.

LOL, great review. Sorry to hear you got the double whammy. I've never heard of a "creaky case" until the release of this fine product. Is that a horrible design flaw or a feature? LOL.:D
 
I am actually happy with my case. It feels better than the Nude, and it actually is scratch resistant.

You seemed to have saved up some venom because others have had positive experiences. :eek: After two disappointments, perhaps it is your phone that is the wrong size:eek::D

TBH, if this was a bunch of crap I would say so, I have no brand loyalties, I say it how I see it, for someone to type that others are trying to fool people is just ridiculous, there are many positive reviews that suggest otherwise.

I am sat looking at mine now, the fit is perfect, I took it off my phone (Which is quite difficult in itself) to see if I could replicate a bad fit, I can't, as for the watermark problem, I don't know as to what this refers.

As for my mini review on a previous page, it seems that because of my delight at my phone devil screen protectors, I may have inadvertently thrown away the packaged screen protector and cloth, Im not going to root around in the bin to find it, I'm more than happy with the combination as it stands on my phone.
 
Wow! Sounds like DeePeezy is a little upset. I am sorry that you had such a bad experience with this product.

I would not say that I would give a positive review for this case but it is ok and will work for me until I find something better. It has it's good points and it's bad one's but it is most certainly not as bad as many on this board has claimed-at least not in my opinion.

The biggest issue I have is with the company itself as it has shown to not be very upfront with it's customers. Don't believe I will do business with them again.

lol sucks for you. i dont use a film in the back and my phone is fine. it fits fine too with no creaks. no watermarking here either. even if it didnt fit fine it was cheap enough that i dont care
 
Interesting that daveats only two posts are to commend ivyskins reception case. Also I'm aware that going skinless on the back of the iPhone would solve the watermarking problem but then why include shields with the case???
 
The back shield that they provide with the case works just fine and reduces the watermarking to almost nothing.

Probably because the case without a shield will eventually scratch the glass back. Why else would they include a protector for the back which is already protected with their case?

I know! I was being sarcastic because someone said that going skinless solves the watermarking problem but obviously there was a reason why ivyskin included a back shield because this case like most plastic snap on cases will scratch the back of your phone.
 
How long does it take paypal to refund the money?? I filed the claim a week ago but haven't seen the money so far!

I believe you are over thinking it mate, Im a British soldier, I don't have any connection with ivyskins, the reason that I submitted my 2 posts about the case was because I hoped that they would be of some assistance to others still in their decision making process.

Its a 10 quid case for goodness sake, it fits my phone and doesn't watermark or creak, I must be lucky, if it didn't work for me I would take it off and throw it away, 10 quid down the tube, in the great scheme of things in aint a big deal.

By the way, where is the post count displayed?
 
My IvySkin shipped as promised and my iP4 was delivered about 30 minutes ago. I was so excited but then the right side of my Reception Case is creaking.

And then I found all of you... I'm still okay with it since I think I'll just use the front and back shields.

When did you order the case and how long after did it ship?
 
Groan. After reading people's reports of the reality of the Reception case, I emailed IvySkin almost a week ago asking to cancel my order as I'd still not received dispatch confirmation. I got no reply, so a few days later I filed a dispute via PayPal and they haven't responded to that either.

Today I got an email saying that my Reception case was dispatched. They have got to be kidding.

Actually, whilst I've not heard back from PayPal, it does seem that IvySkin did initiate a refund on 5th August (looking in the resolution area of the paypal site). Whether the dispatch of the case today was goodwill, or whether just bad organisation I don't know. If they were doing it as a goodwill gesture they should have told me. They're not doing themselves any favours.
 
Well my two ebay cases came in.

Case #1
Atrocious quality overall, The plastic is incredibly cheap (definitely not polycarbonate), and those marks up top that look like tape...those are mold marks:eek: Price: $3.44 shipped.

Case #2
Judging from the looks you would think that this could very well be direct source of Ivyscam cases. Except for the cutout it looks identical.

First the negatives: No surprise, the case also suffers from very cheap plastic. Like other cases of this type it will pickup prints and scratch easily. There also some minor watermarking going on in the back.

Strangely (but not surprisingly) the seller has a bunch of case pictures but none of them look like what I actually got.

On the plus side: unlike the Ivyscam case, this case doesn't squeak or creak at all. Another plus is the price tag, my cost was just $7.00 shipped. Just for grins and giggles I tried flexing this case like some ads I've seen and I was pleasantly surprised to see that it does survive flexing without shattering into a million pieces. I could be wrong, but this thing might just survive a decent spill.

If you're looking for a Ivyscam looking case, this is a better alternative at less than half the cost. Currently the seller looks like he is selling this case in bulk only.
