After a few days of having the Reception case on I have to say IMHO the case is a winner. Even with the two bugaboos (Creaking and fingerprint magnet) the form factor of this case is so darn slim and the plastic does feel good in the hand. Thus far I have no scratches and I have not experienced any flash problems.

That being said, I strongly feel that this case might even stay on my iP4 even when the Element arrives (now shipping). That's right, ladies and gents, this 20 dollar case that we have been waiting for so long might just best the 100 buck Element. Of course, being a case freak I like to change cases at a whim so I will keep the Element, Boxwave Crystal, and Bumper that I currently own.

Cheers!

I finally get home today from my week long trip to try out my case. I hope I like the case like you do!!!!!

Thanks for giving me some hope. I have been reading a lot of negative things about the case on this thread.

Glad you like it. I couldn't stand mine so I sent it back yesterday. Do you find your case fogging up on the inside on the back at all? I don't know if it's just me, my phone or a combination of both but my case was fogging up. Weird.

I see the same thing but not on the inside. At least for me I think it's more a matter of the constant smudging and wiping away of the fingerprints on the outside. If I were to take some cleaning solution and a cloth or something to the case I'm pretty sure it'd clear up.

Same here. However, a soft cloth (even without cleaning solution) wipes everything away.

got my case today, i dont know i guess i got lucky but i dont have any of the fitment problems i've been reading about, it doesnt creek on the right side. it actually fits perfect. other than taking damn forever to get here thats the only problem i have. no flash issue either.

Ivyskin Service

Their service SUCKS........... I placed an order on July 23rd, and they were VERY efficient at charging my credit card on that date, however, as I sit here today, on August 6th, have yet to receive anything............

BE VERY CAREFUL with these guys, no matter how cool their products apparently are.

I wouldn't go anywhere near calling their products "cool"...They just happen to be decent in spite of all the crap they put their customers through. And yeah, your wait isn't unusual considering many other people were waiting up to a month for anything to happen

I had the same experience also. I placed order on 7/12 and received nothing still.

I sent quite a few email to them, but no answer back... until I went to
their web site and go to "Help Desk" and did "Open a Ticket".

After open a ticket, They got back to me next day and sent me tracking
number saying it will be shipped "today". :(

Well... at least it "will" be shipped. Let's see how long I need to wait
after this.

Ivyskin

Got mine finally. Ordered two, on two separate dates. After waiting and being unable to get any response from Ivyskin, I put a claim in for one order, through paypal and got a refund in two days. Put a second claim in, and was told seller had a week to reply. Meanwhile, I received my reception case so I cancelled the claim. The case is very cool- I like it! I hope Ivyskin gets its customer care practices in order, because their product is very good.

I didn't read through this entire thread (it's long) but it seems my experience is the same as many.

1. Ordered the case the day it was announced.
2. Heard nothing.
3. Few weeks later received a USPS tracking number which showed no updates.
5. Nothing showed up, even 3 weeks later
4. E-mailed IVY skin and received a reply that they'd look into it.
5. Two or three days later my case showed up.

It's junk, plain and simple. But you get what you pay for. At only $14.99 we shouldn't be expecting much. The only thing I was expecting, and didn't get is full side coverage. This case is nothing more than a cheap, snap on back cover which doesn't have any protection for the top and bottom of the device. The included front and back screen protectors are a nice add-on.

When I looked at the initial renderings of the case back on the day it was announced I was lured to it because they appeared to be of a more full coverage case. Not.

In my opinion the clear Switch Easy Nude is a MUCH better buy if this is the type of case you're after.

Received my case yesterday (Ordered on 07/22/2010) and I have to say I actually like the thing.

I do not have any of the "creaking" that some people have described. The fit it overall pretty good. I put a skin on the back of my phone previously, and I think I might take it off and put the IvySkin skin on there, instead.

The only drawback I have seen is that it DOES have SERIOUS watermarking issues.

I haven't had a chance to try it out in a dock anywhere. Hopefully I'll get to do that before too long.

I had a ZAGG IS on the back and it did watermark really bad so I switched it out with the one that came with the case and now there's only some slight watermarking around the edges. I do get the rainbow effect in a few places though.

I finally got to try mine. I actually think it is not bad-I guess after reading everybody's bad impression of it, my expectations were lowered.

Mine fits well with no creaking but like you I am experiencing watermarking. Any suggestions to reduce this would be greatly appreciated.

Are you using a screen protector on the back?

I am of the opinion that a case should either make the phone look better, Vaja cases are a case in point, or they should be as invisible as possible, not taking anything away from the beauty of the phone, this case falls into the latter category and does it very well.

I received mine today, ordered it sometime ago, forgot all about it to tell the truth.

I have a phone devil crystal screen protector on the front and a matt protector that was supplied by phone devil as a pre production freebie on the back.

Gotta admit that my first impressions are very good, fits perfectly without any creaking, finger marks are easily wiped off, all leads and connections are easily accessible, all in all, great product, Im very pleased.

The green cloth is a cheapie Tesco (UK Supermarket) couple o quid (£2) for two micro fibre cloth, I must confess, I recommend these wholeheartedly as well.

A couple of pics.

I got my Reception case earlier this week and am pleased overall. It does exactly what I need it to do: provides a little bit of extra protection, helps prevent signal loss when I hold the phone in my left hand, while remaining as inconspicuous as possible. Every once in a while it will make a popping sound, or "creak", on the right side when I grip it but it's not bothersome to me. Before I put it on the phone, I thoroughly polished it inside and out and then blew it out with some compressed air just to make sure there were no dust particles on the inside when I put it on. Looks fantastic and worth what I paid. I know it's not very strong or meant for serious protection, but that's why I carry the phone in my leather "hipster" when I'm not using it. I'd give it four out of five stars, personally.

I have a bodyguardz on the front and back. Do you think it would be better if I take it off? Maybe replace it with the one it came with? I also have a Power Support back i can put on it.

What do you think?

I haven't used Bodyguardz or PS so I can't say for sure. All I know is that Zagg watermarked really bad and it didn't surprise me because of it's texture. I replaced it with the back that came with the case and it looks a lot better.

Ok. I will try it with the back that came with it to see if it improves.
Thanks!
