January 27" iMac Orders! (Those ordered in January)

I ordered a BTO 27" 14th of jan, the status changed to preparing for shipment, does this mean that i maybe will get my imac one week earlier? Expected delivery was supposed to be 14-21 february.

What is your location? Looking at the spreadsheet, it seems they are mostly fulfilling US orders..

If they have reached people who ordered 14th January, then my status may change in the next couple of days...

Mine just went into preparing for shipment. Base 27" with 1 tb fusion. I ordered January 9th. I am in Switzerland.

Im located in sweden. Would be sweet if i can get my hands on it next week.
 
My iMac is suppose to be delivered tomorrow but I've got no tracking info on Apples website and just this message

"Delivery scheduled by final carrier, see estimated delivery date"

I ordered mine early am on the 9th.
European orders are moving now; I'm pretty certain yours will change by the end if the day. I still think they will ship together. Mines just sat waiting in the cold for longer :)

I truly hope your are right. I expect nothing though. Looking back I ordered around 1pm on the 9th.
 
With orders from 9-14th starting to prepare maybe my order on Jan 18th will start preparing by the end of next week. Hopefully!

Hope all those that are still waiting from early Jan ship soon

Be still my heart.. Don't get your hopes up...

If they are pushing 13th today, then in three days time (sunday) they will push the orders for the 16th, fingers crossed...

But if history has taught us anything, then I bet they will start to work with the backlog again, thus clearing orders from 8-12 january or something..

I've not seen so many orders preparing to order as I have in the last 2 days. Maybe they finally sorted things out

Fingers crossed for everyone.

The waiting and uncertainty sucks. Mine changed to preparing after 21.5 days!

And thank goodness for this thread. As my family thinks I'm barking mad and if I mention the word iMac to any friends their eyes glaze over

It's good to be amoung fellow Apple deviants ;-)
 
Wow, just popped in to check the order times these days, having had waited 30 days for a mid Dec. order date.

Looks like it's down to about 2 weeks +/- 5 days?

i just checked, if i had ordered today I would get it 27th Feb- 6th March

it address dependent though. try playing with the postcode and you get different delivery addresses. I bet it varies even more country to country.
 
Ordered mine yesterday.

3-4 weeks, expected between 26 Feb 5 Mar.

3.2GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5
8GB DDR3 SDRAM
1TB 7200-rpm Serial ATA Drive
GeForce GTX 680MX 2GB


Kind of unexpected, but my current iMac's videocard decided it had enough and started glitching like crazy when watching HD video or playing games (my own fault, since I attempted an overclock a few weeks ago).
 
If orders from the 13th and 14th of Jan are now preparing for shipment, then I'd hope that mine (17th) would update in the next few days. Which, even with a few days to ship would mean it'd be around a week early.

Handy - I've finished decorating the room ready for it. Just gives me enough time to buy a new desk and some RAM, and maybe speakers. I'm also thinking about buying these for the keyboard:

Still can't decide on which speakers to get. Don't really want 2.1 sound because I'd have to stick the bass unit under the desk and that'll be awkward to get to. The 2.0 speakers all seem really cheap (price and quality).

What other iMac-related distractions can I look at buying while I'm distracting myself from checking the order status? I've already downloaded a load of wallpapers.

I have the Audioengine A5's in no way do these sound cheap. They are great. If you have the space you could always connect any speaker to a receiver and connect your computer to the receiver.
 
Shipped!

Ordered Jan 12th.

Preparing Jan 30th.

Got shipping email this morning at 4:50am ET. Delivery date set for Feb 6th, but it looks like I might get it on the 5th judging from various posts on here! The end is near! So I'll be getting it about a week before the earliest initial shipping estimate at the time of order.

Oooh, those do look pretty good. On the expensive side, but on the lines of what I'm looking for. Trying to avoid the need for a receiver as well as the speakers on or under my desk.

If they were USB powered too they'd be perfect. Partly to cut down on extra cabling, but also because I only have a double power socket where I'm putting the iMac and it'd save having to get an extension cable too.
 
Still no news on mine which I ordered 3 Dec 2012. It appears that the base models and some 1TB fusion drive machines might be shipping but the 3TB ones are stuck in a big black hole.
 
So here is an interesting fact. My imac arrived at the local sorting facility at 8:08am this morning which is usually after the trucks leave. The facility is down the street from me so I called and asked them if they could hold it there so I didn't have to wait until tomorrow and I could pick it up. They told me they can't hold until after first delivery attempt because of a restriction by Apple and It's Apple policy not there policy. Just seems odd to me.

Edit: My imac made it on a truck and should come to my office later today!

Checkout the A2 speakers from Audioengine. Not as nice as the A5s, but still *very* nice speakers, and half the price of the A5s. No where near enough power from the USB port for these speakers, though, so you will need to find a way to plug them into an AC outlet.
