January 27" iMac Orders! (Those ordered in January)

I checked Apple website early this morning after midnight and the status changed to "Preparing." When I woke up at 6:30am, it was listed as "Shipped" and I received all the tracking info. I recently (11:30amish) checked the tracking and the estimated delivery was Friday at 4:30pm. I'm hoping I don't have to wait until Monday to get it!

I hear ya. My order just went to Preparing For Shipment this morning at 10:45am. I place my order on January 10th.. I'm hoping that it updates to Shipped this evening, that way it will ship out tomorrow morning, or possibly even might THIS evening, depending on the delay between actual action and status update. Because all 27" iMac orders are given complimentary Express Shipping, which only takes at most 2-3 days for US deliveries. So if mine ships tomorrow morning, I COULD have it Saturday, but I'm more likely to see it monday. Someone else on this forum had his order update to Shipped on Friday, and it was delivered to his door at 8:00am on Monday. So at least once they are shipped they will get to us fast. Also, it's pretty damn cool that Apple upgraded everyone to Express Shipping.

I really honestly think that your order literally is right around the corner from going to Preparing For Shipment. Because I mean, your credit card has already been charged the final charge, and you placed your order a day before I did, and since mine just now updated, you HAVE to be next. I think it might have something to do with the countries, but I just can't wrap my head around why you credit card was charged so far ahead of your status changing. It's really odd. I would definitely call Apple today about your order, because something has to be going on, especially if you were charged a few days ago. May everything has already updated for you, just your status page is bugged out or something. Who knows. I really hope yours changes soon.. Good luck!

Thanks. It's absolute chaos. - probably why I'm finding it so difficult - I have a logical orderly mind and this situation. ( nearly used the word process but its not one that I can stomach right now) has driven me mad!!

I just need to be able to work! Old one finally gave up 3 days after me placing the order.

And the iPhone needs fixing too

Not an hour after posting this, I checked my status again and it's moved to preparing for shipment and my card has been charged! I'm a little too excited. :D
 
Sold my 'old' iMac 27" 2011 this morning, and just ordered the following configuration 27" iMac:

  • 3.2GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5
  • 8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM-2X4GB
  • 3TB Fusion Drive
  • NVIDIAGeFrc GTX 675MX 1G GDDR5

Nicee!! Now it's just a matter of waiting...!

Delivery in 3 - 4 weeks (27 Feb, 2013 - 06 Mar, 2013)
 
All done! Lady from the distribution center got a truck to pick it up and was delivered. :D

Now to go to Best Buy and buy an ethernet cable while everything warms up a little and office cleaned before the whole unpackaging! :D

STILL PREPARING! I am actually fuming about this now. What is the email address to use? I'm not ringing as they will just give a generic answer.

Due to the estimated dates from Apple haven't really got a leg to stand on in terms of serious complaint but this is bloody ridiculous now.
 
My base imac with 1TB Fusion ordered on January 13 just went to "Preparing for Shipment."

Ill pm you the emails address I'm using.

I've been sat looking at world maps and working out shipping times. Studying the spreadsheet and a ton of orders have gone to preparing today.

Critically I cannot see ONE for the UK.

If tomorrow nothing's changed. Ill be very surprised. Perhaps they are being built in country order to catch the relevant flight.

What I mean is. Maybe all today's USA orders changing needed to be done first to get a specific flight. Maybe flights to Europe are later so they can manufacture those later.

That's the only hope of sanity I can hold on to

Yours and mine must surely go together. If not then something is seriously screwed up.

I seriously hope you are right. It's kinda good to not feel alone in this like even though that spunds bad. I'm gonna ring the Liverpool One store again to see if they have any at all. Would be crazy if they have my spec in stock......I'd fly down. Doubt it like.

I'm deliriously considering cancelling all together and playing the waiting game with the stores.

i know, apples handling of the whole thing is awful

i think the delays would be manageable pif it were obvious that they were fulfilling those orders in turn, no matter where they ordered them from including resellers and in Apple retail stores.

if it truly were FCFS i would be far far less cross.

nobody should be able to walk in off the street and buy one when people have been waiting and have paid for their machines in December.
 
27" iMac Delivered! 1:15PM CST/US

Ordered on 1/7/13, 27" i7/ 675/8 GB/

Original est delivery date was 2/1; changed to 1/31 and I was SURPRISED to have Fed Ex just deliver it to my door! Now to unbox and set up and pray that it doesn't have any issues. I'll let everyone know.
 
I don't know how many times the last couple of days, I almost cancelled the order, and just thought of buying he Mac mini and a 27 inch Thunderbolt Display, or Dell U27.

@oililymad, I hope I don't have to see others computer shipping, and mine not. Feel for you...
 
This thing is a sight to behold. There's zero defects and oh so much faster than my old iMac! So worth the wait. :cool:

I ordered January 9th, the following setup shipping to Toronto, Canada:

First thing this morning my status changed to "preparing" and at 2:30pm this afternoon I received my shipping notice and tracking number. Expected delivery is next Wednesday, Feb 6th.

One thing of note is it's been shipped via UPS instead of FedEx. Not sure why? My superdrive arrived weeks ago and it was shipped FedEx. I'm certainly not complaining though, the service of UPS here (in my neighbourhood at least) is far, far superior to FedEx.

This kinda confirms to me that USA orders have priority over UK ones.

Still preparing? I thought on you're last update on here you said it was still processing? Typo? Is your's preparing?
