You can gauge how much work is needed but there is no way you can directly quantify that into a time frame.

I should have said "how the progress is coming along" or "what the status is" or any other metric but my point was, it's not a crime or pesterance to be curious about the process.

think of iH8sn0w as the last kid on dodge ball last to be picked. he is more less tolerated by the Dev-team but is no way a part of it. not saying that he hasn't done some neat stuff. However is is defiantly not part of the team so take wat he says with a grain of salt he is 15.

I don't think the dev-team gets annoyed as some people make it out to be. It's really not a big deal. They're not obligated to answer to anyone and probably just shrug off the annoying comments. I know I would.

I don't think dev team does. Geohot dis but he's a raging ******* -- not to mention an ugly little mf'er.

Yes! Release the JB already and finish the unlock later :) from what I've read the major problems are from backgrounding the unlock. But this is getting a bit crazy when there has been a JB since day 1 that were all waiting on unlock to be ready to use the JB. Plenty of folks just want the JB, obviously there is more glory in the unlock but still...

The reason it is not released is because it is still buggy, it breaks the App Store and FaceTime! It is not done! I wish I could type in 'retard' for those on that level so you can UNDERSTAND! Let them finish their work in peace for crying out loud....

Do you have to restore you iPhone before jailbreaking? That way it saves a back up file on your computer?

When you sync it makes a backup you do not have to restore. I have found over the years of jailbreaking that I have had less problems, in general, with setting the phone up as new. Apple also recommends this as if there is ever a problem with your stock firmware and the reason is related to something being corrupted by restoring the backup it is also possible to restore the original corruption. But, of course, this only applies if you have to do a full restore. Just my 2 cents.

That's simply not true. It's the other way round. The unlock is finished (They even had time to try out another unlock exploit) and they're just waiting for the jailbreak to be released. A proof of concept jailbreak exploit was found straight away but testing, bug fixing and writing up a program to jailbreak the phone takes TIME. Finding and fixing bugs is by far the longest process in creating a jailbreak tool. As already mentioned as of quite recently Comex was still ironing out issues with FaceTime and the App store before releasing the jailbreak.

you guys that are crying to release. I love to here you after you find out the Dev-team released a buggy Jailbreak. crashing your facetime apps not working etc. so again relax.
