Here is MuscleNerd's response to the Twitter by iH8Sn0w about the jailbreak not coming this month.

So iH8Sn0w just made that up for the sake of saying something? I think it's entirely just as possible that Comex said something off the cuff about not being this month to him and then iH8Sn0w went and shot his mouth of, causing MuscleNerd to have to do damage control.

I know iH8Sn0w isn't part of the dev team, but he seems to be well connected and respected - just see no reason for him to lie about it.

That's simply not true. It's the other way round. The unlock is finished (They even had time to try out another unlock exploit) and they're just waiting for the jailbreak to be released. A proof of concept jailbreak exploit was found straight away but testing, bug fixing and writing up a program to jailbreak the phone takes TIME. Finding and fixing bugs is by far the longest process in creating a jailbreak tool. As already mentioned as of quite recently Comex was still ironing out issues with FaceTime and the App store before releasing the jailbreak.

This ^^

Wait, someone a few posts up said he was the last one picked at dodgeball. So how can he be credible? Also, MuscleNerd quickly made it clear yesterday that the release was not going to happen yesterday. I'll stick to MuscleNerd, Planetbeing, and Comex for now...

Believe who you choose.

Given a statement about @comex's progress by either MuscleNerd or iH8Sn0w, I choose MuscleNerd every time.

Your decision is obviously different.

The way MN put it, its more-so just better to not believe everything he says. He may or may not have talked to comex but it comes down to the fact that no one knows.

It doesnt matter since the reply he was talking about was about the iPad jailbreak.

no no - I go with MuscleNerd as well - it just seems weird to me. Im going to take the actual dev teams word ever single time. Sorry that post came off as sounding like I was disagreeing with you - I just dont see why iH8Sn0w would say something so easily misproven if he is somewhat connected in that community - either he talked to comex or he didn't, who knows. :)

I follow his tweets (why I don't know)

He retracts/corrects more than a few tweets

Just one example, there are numerous others: At 9AM EST he tweeted the Apple "antennagate" press conference was just about to begin, until I reminded him it was 6 AM in California. His response was to delete his original tweet.

ih8sn0w certainly doesn't have my respect after the crap he pulled with sn0wbreeze. I wouldn't touch his tools with a ten foot pole, nor would I trust anything he said unless confirmed by Musclenerd, planetbeing, or comex.

What happened if you dont mind?

Sn0wbreeze is at least 90% GNU-licensed Dev-Team code, and was released without any credit and under a proprietary license. He did not even ask permission. He has since credited the Dev-Team, but he continues to refuse to release his source or to license his modifications to Dev-Team code under the GNU license. This is a violation of the fundamental principles of the free software movement.

Furthermore, his initial release included copyrighted Apple code, a huge problem which threatened the legitimacy of the entire jailbreak community. To his credit, he has since fixed that issue.

Hm.

I don't know why I'm following him.

But, not something that can't be fixed.

Thanks for the info.

sounds like a winner.

I think iH8sn0w just needs time... and lots of it. I think it would be beneficial for both him and the Dev Team if he was sort of the "Windows guy".
I would actually like to see him be a part of the Dev Team, and create a Windows version of Pwnage Tool, like Sn0wbreeze, just cleaned up and rebranded. I know many Windows users would love the functionality of Pwnage Tool, though.
But you have to give him a break, as labman posted he is only 15, and his skills will grow as time goes on. Hell, Comex is only 18. Can you imagine the amount of talent so young? Geohot was 17 I believe the summer of the first iPhone unlock.

Agreed. We're already asking a lot for free, I wouldnt be able to jailbreak a landphone if 5 hot asian womens lives depended on it (but I would try at least).

this probably confirms what we all already knew - they will release it when they are done. full stop.

Isn't ih8tesnow the same guy who gave the devs bad information about a new iTunes version or new firmware or something in the last few months (saying he had tested something when he hadn't) because he thinks lying is funny?

Just catching up, so we're waiting on a broken FaceTime and App Store?! Who cares about either of those, FaceTime is mostly a gimmick and you can sync apps through your PC until the JB is fixed.

Everyone here loves the Devs, and I respect and appreciate their work just as much, but for those of us who understand the risks/side effects it is frustrating to wait when the JB has been available for so long. The JB benefits far outweigh any troubles, who needs a perfect JB - thats no fun anyways. I'm sure everyone will jump all over me for daring to question the dev team's timeline but I think it is a valid point that we're all fairly savvy here and can handle a less than perfect JB.

they want to produce something they are proud of so they can wait as long as they want. Most people come here to ask questions... because they aren't "fairly savvy"

You all aren't looking at this from the viewpoint of the devs. If they release the jailbreak as is right now, not only will they still have to complete a jailbreak for the average user, but they'll be fielding questions from people who download the "difficult" jailbreak and manage to screw something up. I'm sure that none of them need that kind of hassle.

 Why don't you try coming up with a jailbreak yourself.

If I was a dev, I wouldn't want to tarnish my name by coming out with a shoddy App.
Heck, that's why the iPhone 4 is getting all the negative publicity! Because of its shoddy antenna!
