How is it bad if it's a true statement? Females do shed tears over breakups and listen to music to alleviate it . Males do too, but trust doesn't make his assertion false. Everything he said is accurate.

I don't get it.
Then again, I still don't get the "How many chauvinist does it take to screw in a light bulb?"
Oh well.

Women could say far worse about men on national television and no one would bat an eye.
Ever notice how, in commercials on TV, when an ad is trying to make someone in the ad look like the fool or idiot, it's usually the husband/boyfriend/male and not the wife/girlfriend/female? To do the latter causes calls for boycotting the company/product, but no one feels the same when the man is belittled.

Iovine said that "women find it very difficult at times -- some women -- to find music, …and [Apple Music] helps makes it easier with playlists curated by real people."

Ok, no snark here. Just outright curiously.

You're telling me that when you read that you think "women" means "women and also all people?"

I find that an incredibly odd way of speaking. Is that's what happening, though? That you read that and think this?

To me, when you mention a sub-group it means you're comparing that group to something. Is that not true? Do people sometimes divide things up without any intention of comparing those things?

Those are really good points I just thought he was restating the premise of the ad which features a celebrity and her friends. I'm literally watching an ad showing an old guy taking a phone call from his financial advisor and being reassured by him. That's like the executive saying something like "some retired people find it very difficult to manage their investments. Our company makes it easy to plan for the future." ... Seems pretty harmless. I think it's the same situation, but people are just way to sensitive when they react to it.

Wow...

You know, I'm a huge liberal. I believe that sexism is a legitimate problem in our society, as is racism and the like.

But I've noticed in the past ten years that a bunch of idiotic harebrained social justice warriors have begun to ACTIVELY SEARCH for things to be offended by. They will ruthlessly take anything you say completely out of context in order to paint you as some mysogynistic women-beating monster. They are less interested in actually fixing sexism than they are in pointing their fingers and calling people sexists.

We're turning in to a lock-step society where people believe it is their constitutional right to never be offended by ANYTHING. If you happen to say something that they misconstrue which offends their delicate sensibilities, they whine and shriek that you're an evil sexist monster.

Seriously, social justice warriors, there are legitimate problems with sexism in this country. Serious issues. But in a way that mystifies and astonishes me to this very day, the social justice warriors manage to turn a righteous cause into an idiotic finger-pointing campaign against people who obviously aren't trying to be sexist.

Somehow, those idiots have managed to turn the country against them even though most people agree with them on the most basic points.

And this is the best part. These same social justice warrior morons will defend the Islamic religion to their dying breath. They've somehow gotten this idea into their idiotic brains that arguing against a religion is somehow racist. ISLAM! The most oppressive, violent, and woman-hating religion on the face of the earth, and these same exact people will supposedly tell you they are trying to fight against sexism.

Just...wow. I try so hard in my every day speech and language to be mindful of privilege and sexism in society, there is NO need to shriek every time someone mistakenly says something that the social justice warriors take completely out of context. There are bigger problems out there than that.

To me it's like he said "retired people have trouble with numbers. That's why we help them."

Can you see how mine is worse even though it's basically the same general message as what you said?

Just being generally the same doesn't mean they're exactly the same.

Whats with the totally misleading headline?

This politically correct bs is getting way incorrect and way over the top.... Everywhere !

Too much.. Way out of ballance!

The guy said nothing.. As in "nothing" wrong...
Whats up with these anal activist????
Chill....

Eh, you're definitely right it almost seems like he was making it up on the spot as part of the rationale behind the video when asked. Whatever the case, my point can be found in the first part of the post right above yours.

Oh Nooos! In real he was about to say "Its ...girls... sitting around talking about boys... or girls, or boys who feel as girls, or girls who feel as boys, or girls who where boys who feel themself as gay girls who love cats and no dogs but eat only duck meat that is white..." no offense but he stepped out of social correctness here. :-/

God now I have Blur's Girls and Boys in my head.

You've got to really want it to be offended by this.

Hey. Long time.

But what we're seeing is that everybody has a voice now. So those few who are offended, can be heard on virtually any subject. The real power is within ourselves to not react to the few outliers who will always be there.

I could not have said it better myself.

A flamingly liberal company needs to be prepared to face the music when its representatives make comments that offend its flamingly liberal followers. Complaining about "political correctness" completely misses the point.

Let the phony outrage begin!

Seriously, how many of us old-timers made carefully curated mixtapes for their girlfriends back in the day? He's simply speaking from his point of view and any sane reader should have the capacity (and willingness) to adjust and apply what he says to their own lives.

I agree! I made my wife a playlist-- because she is too busy doing more important stuff.

Why "shouldn't" I be offended?

I have a daughter. She's great with technology. You're saying I "shouldn't" be proud of that fact and tell the world?

Because she is and I love saying so, even if you think I shouldn't. She's not worse at finding music than anyone else.

Why do you think he was talking specifically about your daughter? I'm pretty sure he was actually talking about my wife!

Wow, the comment was not offensive at all. It's a scenario that is totally plausible and commonly happens around the world. Big whoop. Women and men alike can/do cry over each other after a breakup and many turn to music to find relief. It was a simple example that's just being blown out of proportion.
