Agree 100% with SJ, it's a non-issue. I don't have dropped calls, slow data or ANYTHING bad happen when I hold my phone. I guess that might be because I'm not trying to get my signal to drop with a Vulcan death grip.
I was going to buy a bumper anyway so even if there was an issue it's no big deal. Get a life people and chill out. I'll tell you what, I'll trade a 3GS for an iPhone 4. Any takers? I thought so.
This IS a non-issue. the 3gs bars were horrible, i4 is better, some idiot posts a you tube video and it blows up because of haters and rookie iPhone owners, go get a droid you posers

Apple on the iPad: There's no wrong way to hold it.
Apple on the iPhone: You're holding it wrong.

The fundamental issue behind all this is that with Apple, all roads lead to THIN. It's Steve's/Jony's obsession with THIN products that necessitated this design flaw. The phone was so jam packed with components that there was no room left for the antennas, so they made the actual case the antennas.I don't know about the rest of you but I sort of can't believe this is happening! I mean after all the excitement leading up the the launch it seems to have turned into a disaster over night. Really disappointing if this is not addressed properly.
Get your head out of your ass.
Look at the many, many videos that have been posted. We're talking about actual dropped calls and non-functoning data connections based on how you hold the phone, ffs.
There has never been such an unbelievably stupid issue in the industry before.
It's a cock-up of almighty proportions.

Look at the noob who joined this month talk about noob iPhone owners. I have had all of the iPhones since the 2g on day 1 of launch and this is by far the most disappointing product Apple has released since Steve took over.

Steve's right this is a non issue being made into a big deal by haters and trolls. If you really aren't happy with the most amazing phone in the world then take it back and buy a POS Android phone. If This was a real problem then ther's no doubt in my mind that Steve would take care of it. He's never let us down before. Don't let the haters win, ignore them they're just jealous they can't afford a real phone because they're on welfare.

wow! haters? I own almost every Apple product but somewhere between the 3GS and the 4 I forgot how to hold a phone. Come on now!

Let's see what the thinness obsession has brought us so far...
- Desktop computers based on laptop components (iMac)
- Vertically oriented optical drives in iMac (a solution that Steve dismissed as undesirable during the Keynote where he introduced the 'lampshade' iMac G4)
- Chicklet keyboards
- Non-replaceable batteries in all mobile products
- A laptop that fits in a manila envelope, has no optical drive and only a single USB port
- A reliance on slot-loading optical drives which is the main reason why they have yet to go Blu-ray... slot loading BR drives are still ridiculously expensive
- A limitation of 32 GB storage on the iPhone 4 (most people took a bump to 64 for granted)
- Micro SIM
- The Magic Mouse, a mouse so thin it works better as a shaver than an actual mouse
- And now, a cellphone with antennas that are shorted by your hand(!)
(I'm not suggesting all of the above is negative... that's subjective).
The worst part is, they've painted themselves into a corner. Everyone will be expecting the next version of something to be thinner than the last, the thinness fix has become a mandatory part of Steve's Keynotes but components really haven't gotten that much smaller in the last couple of years, instead the demand for more features and power has resulted in a need for more components and more battery capacity to match it.
Because of this issue? Or are there others?
Is this wrong?
Wow man. Is the sky falling to? The guy you QUOTED was actually right and his response is the best I've seen. You made yourself look completely childish with your response to his intelligent and reasonable analysis.
