I'd imagine, like most awards, it's a big deal to the people receiving it but petty and political to the people who don't.Question is: would anyone give two f’s about Jonny’s award?
Very strong (and fitting) allusion to a Sacred Geometry pattern called the "Flower of Life", a pattern known to symbolise Nature, Life & God, found in various forms on Ancient and megalithic structures. Very Nice Jony
It IS the dongle!does it require a dongle?
I hope it's compostable. My tomatoes, peppers, beans, peas, onions, and carrots could really use some mulch! Is this for real? It really looks like a token coin 🪙
Mr. Ive, the award is missing the notch, it’s not paper thin and it’s missing the dongle.
Yep, probably.and 20 years from now it’ll be auctioned off for 1.3 mill
I am going to sell some dog turd in my front yard as NFT. Hey, no smell and you don't have to wash your hands or use that inside-out plastic baggie to handle it!Lol, yes, as an NFT. As obnoxious as NFT sale prices may seem, I really think that we have to be prepared for an all-digital world whereby the physical medium is almost entirely replaced with multidimensional objects. NFTs provide a really unique way for people to collect things as part of this digital world yet have a link back into the physical.
I like yours better!
iPad 1, still using every day, even though I have newer iPads at home. My favourite device, though severely outdated over the years. I wish it could go to iOS 6 though. For those of you too young to remember....just sayin'!

Prince Charles and his eco antiques. Let's save the world by you lot using eco bags, while I go to meetings in my jet. Same as the colossal g*t Gates, same sh*t, different ar*eI’d imagine it’s because of this:
He's an overrated hack. Nothing moreI have always liked his work, and still do. He’s a brilliant guy.
Puts a shade on the whole premise of the award, instead replacing any kind of sympathy with the very real suspicion that this whole schtick amounts to an elaborate pr trick for an irrelevant monarchy to keep it's power.I'm curious to know what you mean by this?
How would you suggest that Mr. Ive should have done a commission from an initiative lead by Prince Charles without it being associated with Prince Charles, then? The design is gorgeous but the association with Prince Charles makes it reek of hypocrisy. What a shame. Just another circle jerk.
Don't associate with Prince Charles and leverage the goodwill you have built up during your own "successful" career to endorse environmental causes. But again, the announcement juxtaposing with COP21 reeks of opportunism. How would you suggest that Mr. Ive should have done a commission from an initiative lead by Prince Charles without it being associated with Prince Charles, then?
Getting awarded by a Jonny Ive award is pretty meaningless. It’s not a ‘big deal’ or anywhere close to being prestigious.I'd imagine, like most awards, it's a big deal to the people receiving it but petty and political to the people who don't.
Love what Ive and his team have done with the seal...
...however, the initiative values, which includes reuniting "people and planet, by giving fundamental rights and value to Nature." headed by the UK's Prince is the problem here.
I'm curious to know what you mean by this?
Doesn’t look like him at all. This looks way too ornate and busy. Maybe now that he’s gone from Apple he can do things that are not minimalistic.
Petty and political? I’m guessing you didn’t get one?Getting awarded by a Jonny Ive award is pretty meaningless. It’s not a ‘big deal’ or anywhere close to being prestigious.
It's the equivilant of a participation medal without the effortGetting awarded by a Jonny Ive award is pretty meaningless. It’s not a ‘big deal’ or anywhere close to being prestigious.
This is beautiful. I just had to stare at it for awhile. That green hue inside of the white seal is just majestic with the beveling of the letterpress.
You mean, he could just refuse, like you would. Or, maybe, he is a designer and he just wanted to do what he likes the most, "his job". It was actually really kind of him, being nice to an ugly person, like prince Charles.Don't associate with Prince Charles and leverage the goodwill you have built up during your own "successful" career to endorse environmental causes.
