Let's see, this should look very nice on all of his Bentleys and his many mansions throughout the world....
Good for you on this. Many people complain but dont take action.Neither is correct.
Also, if an unknown designer has done something I have liked I will purchase and comment appropriately. There have been a few.
That something would be correct insofar as I respect Ive as a designer, although there are things he's done which I don't like; so if he complimented something I have designed, I would take it in the spirit intended. I don't do street art or graffiti so Banksy's opinion of what I do or did is irrelevant.I don’t however gush over people like Ive or Banksy simply because they are Ive or Banksy.
Something tells me you’d wet your pants I’d they ever acknowledged you.
What is pretty meaningless are posts like this (one of many in this thread) where it's clear comprehension of the topic is lacking.Getting awarded by a Jonny Ive award is pretty meaningless. It’s not a ‘big deal’ or anywhere close to being prestigious.
Perhaps the problem with your argument is that recipients aren't being awarded by Jonny Ive.Getting awarded by a Jonny Ive award is pretty meaningless. It’s not a ‘big deal’ or anywhere close to being prestigious.
Fair point, I stand corrected. What is pretty meaningless are posts like this (one of many in this thread) where it's clear comprehension of the topic is lacking.
The seal is awarded by the Sustainable Markets Initiative, not Ive.
Ive & team at LoveFrom designed & created the digital version, while the paper version was a collaboration with British paper mill James Cropper ("The text is letterpressed onto handmade paper made by James Cropper’s Paper Foundation at its mill in Burneside, Cumbria – a workshop using solar and hydro power").
You think he left on his own?Maybe one of the reasons he decided to leave Apple was because he didn’t like the environmental impact and bad mouthing them would be unprofessional? Who knows.
I used to respect people like Ive. Now, whilst I don't dissect them per se, I look at them like normal individuals.Good for you on this. Many people complain but dont take action.

But these days I'm more involved in web accessibility so the compliments from the blind hold more weight.
I'm not talking about thinking someone is godlike, everyone is a regular person but some are nicer people than others, I just respect Ive as a designer.I used to respect people like Ive. Now, whilst I don't dissect them per se, I look at them like normal individuals.
I remember when I was younger thinking that Ayrton Senna was god like. Had never actually met or spoken to him - only saw him on TV and from a distance. Question was, why.
Then one day I met Huggy Bear, (Antonio Fargas of Starsky and Hutch fame). I'm not sure he was an A lister but he was famous nonetheless but I think generally accepted as a cool cat. It was a hour or two later that I thought to myself that he was just a man. Hadn't really done anything profound in general and certainly nothing that really affected me.
Over the years I met a few more people in the public eye, actors, singers, politicians, sports people and I came to the conclusion that they are just ordinary people and when they do ordinary things those things should really be treated as ordinary.
I will however recognise one thing about them. By virtue of the fact that it's them that are doing that thing, it can gain traction and visibility and that is a positive for good causes. The design of the emblem might be rubbish but at least it gets the sustainability thing noticed.
