Could be a long time before we see any mobile related evolution, that is, if Apple is to win all arguments made in their case.

Cost will also soar. The iPhone 7? $599, $699 and $799.

Apple will say: "Why not? Where else are you going to go? Mwuahahah!"

An awful lot of hyperbole there. Apple's lawsuit in this case is primarily on trade dress, not on functionality. There's no way Samsung will get locked out of the market by an Apple win (inconvenienced, perhaps).

For your argument to make sense, we'd have to be talking about a lawsuit on something we now take for granted in devices, like multitouch. And it isn't based on anything nearly so critical that the whomever loses can't continue to compete in the marketplace.

This means Apple products will be cheaper now since their pockets are lined with Samsung's money going bankrupt to pay their infringement fines, right?
ha

ahaha

ahahahahahah..

ahahahahHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAH

BWWWAHAHAHAHAHAHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH:D

Not to rain on the parade, but as Mike Swift's twitter has pointed out, infringement is one thing. We still need to hear whether the patents are valid, and what damages are owed, if any.

Samsucks

So far, so good. Samsuck have been caught out and now the times has come to pay…….:D

Wow, I'm really surprised that I'm not seeing this news anywhere else. Google hasn't picked it up. My stock feed hasn't picked it up.

Actually, Reuters has it on the top of their page.

I wonder why they don't address validity first. After all, if the patent is invalid, who cares if it's infringed?

Anyway, like we've been saying all along : some claims will be won, others lost. Let's wait before calling things. Macrumors did quite jump the gun with "Jury Finds in Favor of Apple".

In fact, it's a lot of "YES/NO" for multiple devices on multiple patents.

its crazy how tim took over a year ago today. aapl is at an all time high, and the verdict comes largely in favor of apple.

I am shocked..........An American Jury finds in favour of an American Company in a trial against a foreign company in a trial held in the USA.......NEVER saw that one coming!!!!

This is a sad day for innovation.

Pinch to zoom? Double tap to zoom? Bounce back feature?

Might as well sue all the companies that made mouse peripherals for desktops then.

.. Who even grants these companies such patents? For example, Facebook has a "News Feed" patent and it didn't even create it!

Apple reinvents the phone, samsung copies it and everyone is mad at Apple for suing? Maybe samsung should try to reinvent the smartphone in some actual way.

Samsung makes innovations in hardware - Apple copies
Apple makes trivial software decisions - Samsung makes the same trivial software decisions.

I plan on patenting using non-keystroke key + keystroke key to create alternate functionality... Alt-F4 = 5c to me please.

Cmd-C .. 5c to me please.

May Samsung pay for all its criminal IP theft - SJ should feel happy wherever he is right now.

A thermonuclear payload UP YOUR ASS, Samsung - this is all you deserve.

As I said above, SJ is largely vindicated in his fight - THERMONUCLEAR PAYLOAD UP YOUR ASS, Samscum!

Samsung is DEAD. **** OFF!

p.s.: And NO, I am not in favor of software patents - too bad the STUPID, IDIOTIC and PROTECTIONIST US legal system came up with it; now the law has to be applied.

Poor Samsung.

Given the way that they treated me when I contacted them re the light tunnel breaking on my Samsung TV (design flaw, class action, settlement, etc) I'd be delighted to see them crash and burn.

Well, there you have it... the consumer is ****ed.

The average consumer goes out of his/her way to be fscked. Were that not the case, people wouldn't live in NYC, use Android, or eat animals.
