If enough customers passed on these 2016 MacBook Pros, as well a brief note to Mr. Cook why, it would be full on consternation in Cupertino and all hands on deck.
My guess the number of truly disaffected will not be sufficient for that. Too many others, likely, dazzled by shiny new trinkets. Shame, as it would be best to put a stop to this train wreck before fully realized.
Those forecasting the slow and possible eventual end of the Macintosh line could be prescient. By the time it comes to that Apple could truthfully say the numbers are simply no longer there, perhaps wondering why. But the loyal who cared and really needed this competency had long since left. Self-fulfilling death by bad design.
That is already in progress today, to an extent.
