I never once told anyone to calm down nor did I tell anyone to stop being defensive. In fact, I never once said these were high quality leather cases. All I originally said was that I liked the patina that developed on someone's case and that patina will develop on all leather... I think you need to take a few minutes and re-read my posts.

I also did not put down his opinion. I said it doesn't make sense based on his observation, not that it was stupid or wrong.

Yes, the thin leather of the case will absorb oils but it will not be "saturated" with them. I also did not say it was impossible that the case could play a role in his experience, I just said it doesnt make sense.

What's more likely is that his hands may sweat more holding the leather case and thus more residue is left on the screen. When he took the case off, his hands may react differently touching the bare metal and now less residue is left behind.

That's possible as well, but either way the case would be the common factor and I'd need a case made of a different material in order to correctly use TouchID.

Let me do a last attempt to explain my point of view. I come in peace.

My opinion is that many customers spend 50$ and think they own a luxurious, leather product just because it is leather and it is apple. I love this case, but it is false.
Just look above: "smells brand new"? What exactly does it mean, that it still smells chemicals?
Most people do not care about quality and the consequence is that they can not recognize it, or appreciate it. You do not need to spend a fortune to know what real leather is. This little thing from hard graft costs 30$ (after all, the leather comes from my own country): http://www.hardgraft.com/collections/extras-1/products/keyfold-heritage

Agreed. I've never disputed any of that... which is why I am confused you keep bringing it up.

I know the iPhone leather case is not premium. I purchased it because the fit is phenomenal and not bulky. I also know that something made of leather that you touch every day WILL develop a patina faster. This case will develop an aged look even faster than other leather cases like Vaja or Hard Graft because the leather is significantly thinner. I understood this prior to purchasing. Non of that changes my opinion that I think the quickly developing patina on these cases looks good. I also never said you were wrong for thinking it reminds you of "sweaty palms". So obviously you do not like my opinion. Fantastic, move on already like you said you would.

This is the reason I find strange that someone like you bigred (that seems to own luxury leather goods) does not see the difference between premium aged leather and the cases above.
You asked me if I think the cases look similar to the straps I linked, the answer is simple: NO!
Real leather aging is close to an art, people that pretend to have a "beautifully aged leather case" after holding an apple case in their hands for three days look funny at best, ignorant at worst.

I think you are also confused about my appreciation for the patina on this phone case. I did not say it is the most gracefully developing patina. I just like the look. You absolutely do not have to agree with it.

Yes, I do own luxury leather goods. The difference is that I purchased those because they will last a lifetime with the proper care. I did not purchase this iPhone leather case with those same expectations. I bought it for the reasons already mentioned.

These cases should not have an aged appearance after three days as you mentioned . I would imagine that is not the norm for the bast majority of people. My case is holding strong after having it for over 2 weeks now. Perhaps some wear but nothing excessive.

PS: Try to reply to what people write, not to what you think they imply. I am saying this because your previous posts are full of "if you think this way, go buy another product... reset your expectations" and so on. It is a bad way of communicating.
Also... excessive sarcasm based on your opinion? Really? Must be because you like the look of donatella versace :p

Oh yes, because you are clearly a shining star of communication with your meme posting and making fun of my opinion lol (Donatella Versace... gross haha).

I said if you don't like the look you should go buy another product. I stand by that since so many don't seem to understand that the thin leather will show signs of patina over a relatively short amount of time (another reason why I said reset your expectations). It appears you do understand that so that's good but the statement still needs to stand for all those that really don't know how leather can and will change.

Agreed. Have you experimented with other cases? Or maybe just use the phone without a case

I've been using the phone without a case and it has still occurred. I'm taking it to the Genius Bar today because this rarely happened on my 5S and doesn't happen on my iPad Air 2, so I can only conclude it's something about the phone. Maybe they'll be able to help, maybe they'll swap it out or something, or maybe they'll just say that's how it is.

You really are impossible... saying that the apple case ages like donatella versace is putting down your opinion? I am astonished.
As I wrote above, you also have a bad habit, that is replying to things I do not write, I do not think and I do not try to imply:

Honestly, it feels like having a discussion with someone that has hearing loss.

Your opinion is that you like the look of the cases posted above. I am fine with that and I do not see where I put it down, I only said that I disagree and I prefer the look of a case that seems brand new. Exchanging opinions is impossible if you think the other is putting down yours.
Good luck with your case, it looks way better than the ones above but I am sure you can not wait for it to be a beautifully aged case.

EDIT: I posted again to clarify that I did not mean to put your opinion down. I just do not like the look of the "aged" cases. This is not putting down the opinions of the ones that like it. Anyway, mission failed.
Time to go back in the corner, maybe.

Welcome to the land of the deaf and blind because I feel the same way. Clearly we have differing opinions and neither feels they did anything wrong. I think we can agree on that:p

Did you try deleting your prints and try setting up Touch ID again? I guess the good news is that you can go back to the Apple Leather case if you did actually like it in the first place

Exchanged my black leather Apple case today due to blistering on the back. Got the midnight blue instead. First thing I noticed is the midnight blue case has a softer feel to it and is easier to install and take off.

Was the blistering due to liquid? The first Apple case I purchased, I accidentally placed it in the same spot I had drink condensation....doh! The leather on these cases is too thin and it will create a bubble/blister if left on it for too long. Some people said they have had success getting rid of it by continually pushing their finger over the spot (that didn't help me though...). Thankfully, Apple replaced it no questions asked.

The new case I received was actually not as soft as the first, but after about a week it felt just fine. That's interesting you found it easier to take on and off. Do you prefer the looser fit or the tighter fit?

I had actually restored the phone at one point and re-registered my prints after that and it made no difference.

I went to the Genius Bar earlier, the guy said that it was weird and just went ahead and swapped it out for another phone, no questions asked. So far no problems with the TouchID on it.

My original case was not placed on any liquid that I was aware of, but I can't rule that out by accident. I had no problem exchanging it which was nice. I probably would not have exchanged it, but I was in Minneapolis and stopped by the Apple Store and brought it up with one of the sales clerks, and she offered to exchange it on the spot. I prefer the slightly looser fit. The phone isn't loose in the case, but easier to remove, if that makes any sense. Perhaps it will shrink a bit as it cures over time and dries out. It seems to be a tad bit nicer than the black leather case.

Anyone care to share how there midnight blue case is holding up after weeks of usage - heard about blackening in corners, but curious to hear from people with this case. Pics of wear and tear would be appreciated.

Thinking about adding this color to my case collection, thanks

Have had my midnight blue for several weeks now. Still looks brand new. I treated it with leather lotion when I got it and will continue to do so periodically. It will darken and show wear at some point but it sure hasn't yet. I surprisingly really dig this case! Looks very sharp on my silver phone.

I have the gold 6 with the brown apple leather case. This case is amazing to look at now and aged from the pictures I've seen.

I can't believe how flaky I got over this issue. I went to the Apple store. I looked at both cases of leather and silicone. I went with a black leather for my I6, what a gut wrenching experience. Its just weird of me to be this way, now I hope I can sleep tonight. Feeling buyers remorse, don't worry my friends in the end I'll keep the case.:p

Any suggestions of a leather conditioning cream?

After seeing some pictures of the weathered brown leather, I was absolutely sold on it! It feels great!

I am looking to buy a red apple case for my iPhone 6...

I am currently using a naked touch case-mate and i love it! but i like to have different options.

for the iPhone 5 i bought the red leather case, and after a couple weeks of use it starting rubbing off and it was turning discolored/black.

I take my phone in and out of my pocket a lot....

did any of you notice this with the leather or silicone? how durable are they holding up for you? i like the feeling of the leather better, but i want one that will last me longer for the money i pay for it.

I'm going on a month in my Black Leather Apple Case and it's fantastic, getting softer but not showing any signs of wear. Sturdy and protective yet slim and showcasing the curvature of the iPhone 6 screen awesomely. It's really great.

And unlike the Brown, Blue or any other fashion color, the Black works perfectly in the boardroom, very executive in look while being very casual in feel.

Wasn't my intent, just that the shot with the keys and stuff is the best one I have of the back of the Leather case.

Those are good photos. The watches and car key are important because they give you a sense of scale. Thanks.

After using my red iphone case for over a month, I am absolutely convinced the red case is either of a different type of leather, or has a special protective coating, compared to the midnight blue case.

The blue case's button covers broke in after 2 weeks, and pressing the buttons was like not have the leather there at all. Very responsive, and great tactile feedback. The blue case also showed that typical apple leather patina/wear. Some black patches started to appear on the back of the midnight blue case.

After well over a month (maybe 1.5), the red leather case's buttons still have no broken in. They are still as firm as the day I got them, and there is no wear on the back of the case. There is some dirt on the sides and buttons, but it is VERY minor, and not "wear" but superficial dirt. The red leather case was used much more, and has gone through much more than the blue case.

If you just look at the red leather case, there is something a little synthetic about the finish. It doesn't look like raw leather, but like there is a layer of silicone or something else. Doesn't have the same supple feel the blue case had, but a smooth synthetic feeling.

Does this case add any grip to the 6 Plus? As you all know, this phone is very slipperly without a case. Thanks
