Just wondering those with the Apple leather case, since bottom is exposed will the bottom get scratched easily?

The phone would of to come in contact with something sharp or rough from a fall etc, to scratch the bottom of it. Other than that it will be fine.

In 3 months of use, sticking it in my pocket with keys, etc. there has been no damage to the bottom of the phone.

I have this case for my SG 6+ and also had it for SG 6. It is fantastic looking and feels great in the hand on both sizes. I got it in black for both and it is the only color I would want with Space Gray

I think it should be made clear to many that these cases are painted. The leather underneath is of course leather, which is relatively dark in colour. Paint wares fast, there is no way around this. They also cannot make a bare leather case because the leather is so thin. It's colour would be uneven and aesthetically unpleasing.

They would have to make these cases significantly thicker to use naked leather, which would cost more and have people complaining about the added bulk.

The wear will happen, very fast if you have sweaty hands and tight pants.

I don't understand why they make the white case, there is no way it will ever look good once worn.

Be gentle and stick to dark colours.

Nope, it's not painted. It's analine leather, which means it's dyed leather, using what is referred to as analine dye, of various colors. What is missing is a top polymer coating that is found on furniture, handbag, car and other leathers to preserve the color finish and prevent staining.

However, the analine finish maintains the original leather feel. But it absorbs oils from your hand, up to a point, that will darken the color. Been that way for over a century. .

The Apple case it dyed.

And black looks awesome! I "might" do brown as a 2nd choice.

I switched from T-Mobile to ATT because of my new job discount, so I unlocked my iPhone 6 plus, and I no longer have the insurance, I decided I need a case now. I picked up an Apple leather case in Navy Blue today, nicer than I thought it would be, though it's still expensive, though a small price to pay to protect such an expensive phone.

Had my navy Blue since Halloween for 6 plus. It got darker over time, but even. I'm still happy with it and think it looks great.

If I knew it'd darken evenly as it did I may have went for Red instead, which was a toss up when buying.

Just got black today for my iPhone 6. I was a bit hesitant after my bad experience with a Red case for my iPhone 5S which started to turn black after just 3 weeks.

From everything I have read, the darker (especially black) should keep its looks for the longest time. I'm the type of guy that switches case types from time to time so the the Leather case will be sharing time with the Ringke Slim and the Caudabe Veil (Wisp) XT.

I don't see the leather ever peeling off unless you constantly keep dropping it or dragging it. If you take care of it it will last.

Yea I have been rocking my leather case on and off since 10/16 and it stil looks new, still has that new leather smell as well.

Just got my Apple Leather Case

I've had my Apple case since launch, so 3 plus months. No peeling, flaky. Just a uniform darker brown color.

Full dye color is only 'skin' deep, so tearing or cutting into it will expose a fresh leather underneath. Don't use it as a sanding block.

Here is a photo of an Analine dyed very, very high quality furniture leather sample. As you can see the color is not all the way through. Its leather, not a miracle fabric. The photo is a bit out of focus and deceiving. The deep brown is only a very thin layer.

My Apple case is holding up well.

Sure. Give still menlater tonight. It's dark brown. Not as dark as chocolate. More like a dark brown of a mans leather jacket.

Three photos with different backdrops. Case in use since Sept, so about 3-4 months.

Not as dark as a Hershey bar. Hard to photo under tungsten house lighting

Looks awesome. Can't wait until mine gets there. I think Apple tests these for final color. What I mean is that they make sure that over time there is a good/decent color. This is why I settled for brown. I want the color change.
