Damn, well I hope nothing will happen to whoever checked rang me up. I didn't think people on here would have such a cow over it. My bads on the receipt, hopefully I blacked out that person's id number or whatever. Well the manager did approve the sale anyways so I don't know...

It was on display. There were only 2 on display, both of them black, one in 16gb and the other in 32gb versions. I asked the electronics employee if there was more and she said they had 5 of each. When the lady was pulling the iPad Mini out, another customer was looking and telling her mom that Walmart had the new iPad Mini. I don't know if they bought it or not but atleast two other people saw that Walmart did have it in stock.

I think the white iPads and iPhones look prettier and much less generic than the black versions. I worried about the bezel annoying me during movies but as soon as I received my iPad (white) I promptly forgot all such worries while oohing and aahing over it. But I do like the slate back..!

None so far. That's one thing I am worried about because I read the hundreds of iphone 5 scratched back posts in the iphone 5 subforum. I like to handle my iPad with no protection and that's the way I did it with my iPad 3 and Nexus 7 but I am open to getting a back cover so I don't get any scratches.
I liked the look of one of the early mini mockups that had a 16:9 ratio screen (as I remember), but that's really not a great ratio for reading, is it? Even though the A4 page is closer to 16:9 ration than a US Letter page, isn't 4:3 a better ratio for that and a whole lot else? Sure for movies, 16:9, but that can be achieved by letter boxing (which making it narrower would achieve in the same manner by taking physical screen space away - horizontally, the space wouldn't increase), and then you can use the extra real estate for all other apps. I've never used a 16:9 ratio device like this, I'd love to give it a try and compare.
Do you have the iBooks app installed? If you turn the iPad Mini on its side to view in landscape mode, can you view two pages at once like you can on the full sized iPad?

Wait, so you went to Wal-Mart with the only intention of exchanging your Nexus 7 16 GB for one with 32 GB. And then you come home with a different 16 GB tablet and even less money? That's what I would call a shopping failure.
But a wiser decision.

Were you even on when the poster came on claiming to have an iPad mini that doesn't go on sale until Friday. First doesn't post any pictures. Then posts a picture of a receipt. Yet no picture of the actual product. What the hell do you think people are going to say on here? Are you that dense that you can't deduce the reaction? Same reaction would have been received with an other Apple product. Show a picture of the product, or the thread is useless.
The OP did not provide a picture until 6hrs after first creating the thread. Blame it on him for being slow and posting picture of a receipt and not the iPad.
Looks like some of us were wrong. Fair enough but the very basic rules of every forum I have ever been on is "no pic, no_______" (whatever the subject of the post is).

I think this is the reason early access to the mini was given. If this got to the store manager someone would get fired as we all know Apples strict policies on product launches!
