just installed iOS5, if you have any questions:

Can you send/share a location(Map) screenshot like with WhatsApp in iMessage?

Can you control the Notification Center menu pull down? Hold it, pull it down half way and then pull it back up? Or does it slide down completely on the swipe gesture without control?

you can disable iMessage, and you can disable whether or not you want to send an iMessage as a text if you don't have wifi/3G. but for that reason, you are very wrong.

there is a delivery receipt, so you know whether or not the person has at least received the message. with texts, you don't know for sure if that person sent the message.

right now, Rogers in my area is having network congestion and when i send a text message sometimes.. it sends, but doesn't always go through. people call me a few hours later saying "hey you never texted me the details" when i did... (iOS 4.3)
 
installed the ipsw from the same link most people are using, with itunes beta 10.5

worked after a reboot, thanks to seobradley@gmail.com for accomodating my device id to his dev account, i can certainly vouch for his honesty and quick service and follow.

few things ive noticed, not read all the threads as it was 0200 GMT when i got to be last night.

- Camera app, seams to be missing everything other than take a photo etc (flash option, options)
- the download from iCloud for itunes, seams not to be with me in the UK yet.
- reminder app, crashed when clicking in from the notification center

Thanks guys for the response regarding the lock screen camera. I feel silly for missing it. Was it mentioned during the keynote or should I have read it somewhere?

I was thinking it would be an actual option, not a shortcut. Silly goose chase.

the release notes say it doesn't work in beta 1.

yes you can, no, you cant control the pull down, if you begin pulling it down, after a certain point it will go all the way to the bottom.
 
Quite a few problems already

When reciveing a text i dont get a notification unless im on the lock screen - so i dont even know i have messages.

I dont have the quick launch camera icon - even if i double tap home

Facetime is STILL waiting for activation as is iMessage

When in a phone call - it takes ages for the phone menu to pop up to allow me to use speakerphone and when it does it says ive been on the phone for about 4000 minutes already (not a pain but an issue all the less)

That's a lie. I can completely control the pull down on my iPhone 4.

Are there any new text tones? I know they added some with iOS 4, but they more or less are bleh forcing most people (that at least I know) to stick with the good ol' tri-tone.

Even better, can we set a custom ringtone for texts?
 
baseband is 4.11.04 for iphone 4 and in camera app you can swipe right to view your pictures instead of clicking the little small box in the corner

No new tones. Yes, you can add custom ringtones for texts (if you've bought them etc). Same for mail sent & received, etc.

Hmm i get a notifcation when recieve text (bar appears at top)

Camera button appears at lockscreen

Think you might have install prob?

i turned phone off and on again and i can now do these things and get the bar appear

must of been a glitch

however when i turned off and on again it prompted me to the welcome set up screen :S

Can we download them from the web and import them to iTunes, similar to the current situation with ringtones, or must they be bought?

From what I can see, if they show up under "Ringtones" in iTunes, they appear in every place. May be a bug, may be a feature.

Basically how it works now for ringtones (including the buy more button) but for everything now.

I did a fair few reboots earlier and never got the welcome screen
