I don't really care about iCloud or Twitter, does iOS5 offer anything in regards to performance or battery life?

No. Wait for the iPhone 5. And the battery on the iPhone is phenomenal. If it's still not enough, you might as well buy an Android phone where you can pop in spare batteries on the go.

  • Maps - It should offer multiple ways when you select a route, can somebody please open maps, select some route and post a screenshot of how it offers multiple routes?

  • iMessage - Can you send a location(Map) screenshot like with WhatsApp? - Would be great if we could send a location and then the receiver could start routing/navigating right from iMessage.

  • Weather in Notification Center - Can you set multiple cities? Is the weather app still present?

  • Notification Center - Can you enable/disable stocks and weather selectively or is there only one toggle for both?

  • Notification Center - Can you control the pull down on it, hold it, pull it down half way and then pull it back up? Or does it slide down completely on the swipe gesture without control?

  • 3GS - Does it have all the iOS 5 features(what you've seen so far obviously)?

Thank You!

-----------------------------------

EDIT: Hope Apple fixes the following:

If Notification banners are ignored they won't show up on the Lockscreen - They should.

Calendar events should be displayed in Notifications Center/Lockscreen.

How does the photo albums feature work? is it similar to photoalbums+?
create and delete photo albums, can you move photos between the folders? is it just for the camera roll or photo library as well?

the creator or photoalbums+ gonna be pissed. so is sbsettings. so is mobile notifier. so is snaptap.

I have "Store" preferences question.

Does it allow different address than what your iCloud/mobile me is now?

Perhaps a post I made will describe what I mean so I will post it here.

---------------------------------------

Here is scenario.

I have 2 iPhones and a iPod touch for kid. We all have the SAME Apple ID linked to AppStore purchases so we don't have to download 3 separate copies and pay for all 3.

We have MobileMe family pack with separate email addresses for separate calendar, email, etc...

Here is the problem:
On the new screen shots for iCloud you use your Apple ID to, and i qoute, "Your apple ID sets up iCloud, the AppStore, iTunes Store and more"

Then the iCloud setup (outside of Apple ID sign in area) has only 1 slider of on and off for, and I quote, "Store your contacts, calendars, photos, music, books, APPS, and more..." ...... WITH NO SEPARATE LOGIN!!!!!

That means in order to have separate email, calendars, etc... You have to have DIFFERENT Apple IDs for syncing different email and calendars.

THE OUTCOME (if this true)
You have to have different Apple IDs for different users. And since the ability to SHARE one paid download among all the devices is linked to the Apple ID, and all your devices have to have diffent Apple IDs means you have to purchase each app separately for each device with a different Apple ID.

IF THIS IS TRUE, BIG TROUBLE
I don't want to buy every app we ALL use 3 times.

AM I WRONG? (I hope I missed something)

-------------------------

From screenshots it looks like the Apple ID is only entered in ONE spot to control ALL iCloud/App Store/iTunes/calendar/email... Etc....

I would like to know this too, anyone?

I just read here that if you use TinyUmberlla save your SHSH before you upgrade you can restore again if you have any problems.

So I've got everything set up on my iPad 2 and iPhone 4. So far so good. Notifications are a dream come true and work very well so far. There are a few glitches here and there but nothing deal-breaking – at least for me. The split keyboard on iPad is genius. Way better to write with when you're holding the device with both hands.

The only apps not working for me right now are Air Video live conversion (I use StreamToMe instead) and unfortunately EyeTV/EyeConnect. Glad it's offseason and I don't watch TV at all ;)

With this and the completely implemented I loud (read: iCloud *lol*) plus iTunes Match, this is a godsend come autumn for the iOS platform and its users.

Is anyone else having issues with iMessage?? I can see in settings under iMessage it says 'Waiting for activation...' but the icon seems to have stalled on installing!! I tried turning the phone off and on and it disappeared!

I've restored twice and same thing happens.

I'm on PAYG, not sure if that makes a difference?

For those that have iOS5 installed, if you plug in your iDevice to an accessory does it still lock the iPod/Music controls with the Accessory Connected splash screen? Thanks!

what happens when you're listening to music and then try to take a picture with the volume up button? Does it change volume or snaps a photo?

Does the mail.app now support the "Send Mail As" or "Reply
to" fields without having to install multiple email accounts?

Example: MobileMe email account setup on iPhone but would like the option to send email using private domain.

Audio In and Out

One of the new APIs reads: Support for lots of sample audio inputs and channel routing.

Can you try the Camera Connection Kit and see if it works for USB audio as it does in the iPad?

Facetime or iMessage 'own number' activation doesn't seem to be working atm, anyone else with this problem?

I keep getting a message that my device is not eligible for the update. How long did it take for everyone else UDIDs to be accepted?

I'm on ios 5 thanks to groovebutcher.
So far I've noticed that my iphone 4 is doing pretty well.
There are some glitches in animations and transitions but nothing drastic which we haven't already seen on 4.3..
i've also noticed some apps freezing like when i tried to download a purchased app from the appstore it froze until the download finished.
One thing is that there are no wallpapers to choose from. You get the droplets one and that's it. You can put a photo from camera roll alright.

I think it's usable even for a everyday phone. This is my only one

is it stable enough for everyday use ?

if you know how to deal with a few bugs here and there you should be good to go, at least on the newer devices. i fathom that older ones like the 3Gs might sweat a little. this beta runs fantastic for me, except for a few little bugs. only EyeTV doesn't stream to my iPad2 or iPhone4 –*other than that, great.

Make sure to not enable iCloud in the beginning using your regular MobileMe address if you restore from a backup or you'll end up with a duplicate Mail account :) Just to spare the hassle (you can disable your MobileMe and iCloud account and set one up afterwards to remove the duplicate)

THanks.

Do you all think that after we install the 1st Beta the next ones will be OTA ?
