Just ordered from ATT 6/20/09, what was the overall delivery time?

I ordered the 3G S from at&t on-line on Sunday, June 21st. Ordered status showed proceesing on Monday, June 22nd. This afternoon, Friday, I received an email that it was shipped. I would imagine that the engraving created some delay.
your order should ship shortly after that change in status. it can ship as early as today.
Yea, I ordered the 20th. Still nothing. How can that be?
The apple store close to me has been out of stock twice and got new inventory in.
I was even there and they told me they had none. After 120 mile round trip the website reported they had all models.
I called them afterward and they said a surprise delivery. It all BS.
I'm getting tired of the apple bull*****. They told me to come there and then after driving 60 miles one way sent me home. Only to post that all models in stock. I seen the fedex truck behind the building.
I called to verify stock and they said they had plenty.
120 miles for nothing. Rockaway mall in jersey. They're bastards.
They played with me, my gas money and time.
Apple really sucks. Other people seem to think that too.
They hold the product slightly out of reach so you end up begging like a dog for a milk bone.
No more. At least for me. Yea, I'll take this order but I'm back to looking at other equivalents.
I just can't deal with their staging. I was at ridgedale mall in MN.
I went in and they had all combinations in stock. But they told me to wait on line. I said "what line".
They pointed me out into the mall where two people were standing amongst
airport type crowd control tapes. It was a farce. There were two people standing there and I asked "that's a line?"
Oh yea, you have to be escorted in to buy an iPhone.
I'm done. Last one. The competitors are chomping on the spoils.
After being treated this way. I'm going to start looking.

Yeah when it switches off of 1 backordered to 0, that means that they now have enough in stock to accommodate you, they just haven't had the time to process your order and get it set up for shipping. I would expect it Monday or Tuesday in your hands.
This dude is talking directly out of his ***. My phones status on the ATT site has been 1 ordered 0 backordered since Tuesday, the day I ordered my phone. But 3 and a half days later they still haven't shipped my phone. I highly doubt that dudes phone will be shipped "later today", it that's the case then good for him, but I doubt it.

There have been a few cases where it hasn't shipped, but I have had two separate orders that have all been shipped within 24 hours of the backordered changing. Almost everyone that I have talked to has had the same experience. I said, "I would expect." Also, if it has been off backordered for 3 1/2 days, I would call up ATT and check if everything is OK with your order. Maybe they had a problem with your billing and were waiting 24 hours to try again. Don't say I'm talking out of my ass when I'm completely not.

I just got off an hour long phone call with an AT&T rep who told me everything I already knew. At the end of our conversation he told me it's still "In Progress" and that when it shipped I would get a tracking number. Fed up with his uselessness I said thank you for helping me and hung up. Sorry if I seem angry, because I really am. Even people who work for AT&T can't explain what's taking so freaking long for my damn phone to ship.
Soopamac and Switz were right! Got my tracking number, supposedly I'll have it Monday! About damn time...

Are you still backordered? You're in PA so I assume it would be coming from Memphis. They may be out of stock... If you have a 32gb/black (the only I can confirm), you should have it by now. I would get on the phone with a supervisor and complain.

Wow man you are lucky. I ordered the 23rd as well, but in the afternoon and in-store as well, yet I'm still getting the damn "In Progress" status. Supposedly you get your phone faster if you order in store. Yeah my freaking *** AT&T. Thousands of people everyday walk into Apple stores and pick up one of many Iphones sitting there. Why can't AT&T get their act together and get some damn phones in stock. I'm sick of this.
Hell, even if I wanted to buy from Apple now I get this.

woot. just checked my order status, it has been shipped with a delivery for Monday by 3:00 pm.

i never received an email, I just checked and it had everything gone on my order status except the iphone.
it was weird because it doesn't have a 1 under neath items shipped, but when i checked the tracking number it gave me it has already left.
i ordered a black 16GB 3gS if that helps any.

The rep I talked to called another number but he wouldn't share it. I'm wondering what that number is. I do have the ATT toll free number which I called right before him and it just said "in progress".

I just got an email from AT&T (Friday 21:56 Eastern) that stated my new telephone number and Fedex shipping number. I placed the order last Sunday.
Update: BTW, the AT&T status page still shows In Progress. I wonder if they will update it overnight tonight.
