The only thing that would worry me if I were one of you is how accurate are these online reservations? I mean there were ppl being turned away and they had their phone reserved and everything. Only to find out when they went to the store, that the phone they wanted was not in stock. I guess if you are a few minutes away. It is no big deal. But I would be pissed if I lived a few hours away and still got turned away after I made my reservation.
Thattttttts what I wanna know too!

Yep, I do not deal with that reservation stuff online. I go to the store early same day and see what is available. I am not far away though.

so does this reservation only for apple financing? i found a black near my place and i'm ready to reserve but i want to pay full price...

Just go through the process online and see if you can buy it outright.

I don't deal with the online system so I cannot confirm it will let you.

This is what I'm actually going to try... and I'm going to try to use carrier financing with it too. I just wanted to know exactly how this person got theirs :p. Thanks though!

How does the carrier financing situation work when you're purchasing through apple?

Yep just saw my local stores in Miami have the 7+ in stock even in matte black (no jb).

I'm in south Florida too, just saw I could reserve a plus at the store but am debating that or waiting to find one in a carrier store.

Why not cancel your preorder and go pick one up in store?

Those preorder dates are estimates at best. I rather roll the dice and just take my chances at a local Apple Store. Sunday is about when it calms down, forget the first two days.

Worked for me every year, not saying I could get exactly what I want that day but one can just check every few days for that specific one you really want. Once Apple gets it in, just return the prior one bought.

Specific Plus variants for carrier and storage are not that easy, surprised as heck I can walk in and get one that quickly.

Local Apple Store with no line, I was flabbergasted when she said they had one available. AT&T 32gb black matte.

Seems more are available, I cannot clarify carrier or storage for those but I know there is no unlocked variant available.

Happy shopping.

yay

The reservation is confusing. It doesn't allow me to reserve it under the payment option without Apple care. There is the standard $36 per month option which I want, but its only giving me the $41 per month option. IS that the only way to reserve/check status.

I got my phone
I had the choice of iUP, carrier, or out right.

What's frustrating is more setting up then getting the phone. I wanted to restore from backup and it didn't. Not sure if it's because I had to download the new update too...but yeah, slightly bugged that I have to redo everything. Not the end of the world.

I'm surprised I was able to get a 128 plus but I ain't complaining!

Can you reserve without placing payment? I wanted to actually pay for mine to make sure I get it, but they didn't give me an option.

It doesn't matter what you pick (iUP, installments, carrier or pay in full) at the time of reserve; when you're in the store, and checking out, all options are available (approval is another matter).

I just say it's for a gift and they'll let me bypass activating it in store. Pay in full. Easy peasy.

I did have to have an account with the carrier to do the reserve though.

Oh so even if you do the carrier option you still have to pay in full? So the only way to do payments is to apply for their program.

You can pay in full.

If you do the carrier option you can pay in payments with multiple options (carrier, iUP, installments)

But you can't do the payments option if you don't want it activated. You must pay in full to avoid having the device activated in store.

I don't care about having it activated. My thing is I don't want to apply for iup bc I don't have great credit and can't pay in full. I usually do installment payments through T-Mobile because I share an account with someone else. So if i go in and say I want to pay through payments with my carrier how would that work?

the online reservation system for the USA does not seem to be working. How did you reserve, unless you are part of the upgrade program?

Ohhh you're with T-Mobile. That's the one carrier I haven't had (have had sprint, att & Verizon). Don't know how that's going to work. I imagine apple can help with the installments through t-mobile, I would reserve a phone and when checking out let them know. I've seen a couple processed in the store, they call it TAP?

I reserved it! I wasn't a part of the program. But it seems like they only have it for a window and once it's filled up you have to try again the next day for luck? Based on what I've read and my own experience.

The website says 12:01, but the store said to try it at 8am. No luck for me. My 7+ JB is preparing for shipment, but I'd rather have a 256GB matte black. I'll try again tonight/tomorrow unless I have a tracking number. I have another line to use if the preorder can't be cancelled.

Thanks for the info. I was able to grab a 7 on launch day bc I had to get rid of my note 7 but I'm on the hunt for a plus. I managed to reserve one but just debating whether it's worth going and returning my 7 at the carrier store and then going out to apple and hoping it works out. Or if I should just wait a few days and see if carriers get any stuck and just process an exchange at my carrier store.
