I'd also be concerned about the plastic cracking like it did on the 3G/3Gs.

Me too. I was at the apple store with a friend and I was explaining how durable they are. I picked one up to explain that it felt better too, then I looked at the back and there was a chunk of plastic broken off -_-

Compared to the chipping and denting/bending of iPhone 5/5S (even from the get-go or just normal use), seems like that aspect of it sort of evens out.

And where did you read iPhone 5c is not selling well ?
Are you basing your assumption on production switch in a factory like many else did on this forum ?
I have no data about iPhone 5c sales.
Actually the only report we have is iPhone 5 just had a 27% increase during Black Friday, much more than iPhone 5s ....

----------

I agree with you.

----------

Ok, and his point is that WAS THE SAME LAST YEAR WITH IPHONE 4S but nobody screamed in pain ....

----------

You are a well known basher .... There is nothing outdated in iPhone 5c.
It runs EVERY AND I SAY AGAIN EVERY apps without problems, with extremely good performance.
This is not android, when you need an eightcore 3 Ghz Chipset just to run the os smoothly ....
Who cares about tech specs if the iPhone can run ANYTHING FINE ?

----------

No one of the plastic high end Samsung phones I have in my home (s2, s3 and S4 mini) is comparable with iPhone 5c.

Only Nokia Lumia can compete ....

Honestly with thegrants1982 I believe he has nothing better to do. All he does is get on this forum just to hate on the 5c ... No other reason.

To the OP... I agree with you. I despise the design of the 5/5s. The iPhone 5c has a better overall design. As a matter of fact had it not been for the 5c I would've stayed with my 4s

----------

Yes, your crap plastic 5c should be more expensive and premium than my aluminum Gold 5s, right GTFO.

This is where the problem lays. Your opinion is you like the 5s better. My opinion is I don't like it at all. It doesn't make anyone less of a person to have a differing opinion.

I know the 5s is a great phone. I also know that the 5c is a great phone. It doesn't matter which one people chooses... So GTFO

No one cares which one he chooses or what he likes or dislikes. What I like doesn't even matter, but I'm not under some silly illusion that the costs of plastic is greater than that of aluminum. So why in the hell should I think a plastic phone with the same innards should be more expensive (hence more premium) than my aluminum phone. Use some sense and leave your subjectivity out of it.

For the first time, I actually had to buy two iPhones.

I bought the 5c because it really is stylish and I believe in that product, it's A6 is current technology that you can trust without getting the crashes that I've heard about on the 5s.

But I also got the 5s too because I wanted to try out the fingerprint sensor.

I use both, it's just like changing clothes.

But like I said, if Apple makes plastic, it's amazing, if Samsung does, it's cheap.

Apple doesn't have a monopoly on decent plastic phones, as I've mentioned in all my previous replies. Samsung is free to build solid-feeling plastic phones too, just like countless other companies do (Nokia, and even HTC with their One X). Samsung simply chooses not to.

It's not automatically cheap just because it's Samsung; it's cheap because Samsung chooses to make it that way.

Wow what an expensive choice !

This is luxury. To say that this phone is anything short of that is just ignoring Apple's marketing. Have you seen the commercials for this?

Tech journalists let their imaginations run wild with the idea that it was some how created for the third world.

Come back to reality. The 5c is $700, the 5s is $800. They are about the same. Apple just wanted to make something trendy to get new customers.

The 5c is a big step forward. An improvement over the original iPhone 5 in almost every way. In looks, battery life, and usability. It feels like you're getting something fresh.

Instead of offering the iPhone 5 again, Apple had to get it off the shelves and they really wanted to get improved products on their shelves. And they did that.

The 5c looks like cheap plastic phones like any mid range plastic phone.

As most iphone advocates like to harp on the fact that "all phone made of plastic is cheap" (incl. many online reviews), I think this resonate to those who wanted to buy Iphone to think that 5c is "cheap" but with price that is too expensive.

Well I see your point, and I disagree, My Note3 does not feel cheaper in any way than my old iPhone 3GS, or any of the 5c's I've handled in the store.

What I find hilarious is that some think aluminium is "premium" ...

Exactly!

The 5c is " suffering" because of over zealous tech journos who harped on for months that Apple were (RUMOURED) to be working on a budget iPhone.

That device never came and doesn't exist yet because the iPhone 5c is plastic there are people who have put 2 and 2 together and came up with completely the wrong answer, tieing the 5c with the "budget phone" rumour.

iPhone 5c is not and was never intended to be a "budget" iPhone.

The whole comparison with Samsung's plastic phones comes down to the back plate on the Samsung being very thin, flimsy and removable to allow access to the battery. It's not one single back piece and because it allows access to the inside it's not go the same rigid internal structure as the 5c. The 5c feels very robust.

How did we ever cope with those plastic premium model iPhone 3G and 3Gs models?

iPhone 5c looks and feels better. It's also more durable in everyday use because of more practical design. No bending issues like 5/5s, which can easily even crack at volume buttons.

Moving all iPhones to 5C style plastic would destroy the iPhone case industry. It's an industry that grew out of Apple's design decisions long ago to use easily susceptible materials in their phones, not to mention, computers. Sure, aluminum is recyclable, but what about all those protective plastic cases that aren't?

I say it's the case makers fault for not coming up with any creative designs for the 5c.

First off I'm not saying the 5c is more premium. I'm saying I like the look and feel of it better. I personally despise the look and feel of the 5/5s. Do I insult everyone that has one? No and I won't. I know it's a good phone. I also know the 5c is a good phone, but the problem is people come on forums with insults to people just because they chose the 5c and not the ugly 5s. Yeah I said UGLY because it's MY opinion. I don't like it ... I had the iPhone 5 on launch and returned it when I figured out how ugly it was. I kept my 4s for a extra year because of it. Again it's my opinion not yours or anyone else's.

Also what is "aluminum gold". Another thing don't come at me with the 5s is so much more premium because it's metal BS.... Aluminum is metal but it's also the cheapest metal.... That's not me saying the 5c is more premium it's me saying the 5s may look and feel premium, but aluminum is anything but premium. My Mountain Dew can is aluminum. I'm just saying I know they are premium phones

I'm confused when someone says "aluminum gold" I have the mental capacity to know they mean aluminum gold color. Did we not know that or just acting like children?

This thread i bonkers. Someone posted that the 5c was more durable than the 5s. LOL In what way. The 5c is a 5 with cheaper casing. It does not feel premium at all. Feels good but not premium. Maybe some are dazzled by the different colors (apples intent). Lets say they made the 5c in black and white only, sure the same people would say it was boring.

The plastic feels incredible, and it looks amazing. It looks better than 5S imho. They should dump the aluminium and go with plastic from now on for all models.

And this certainly is not the same kind of plastic on other plastic phones. I have never seen plastic looking like that.

Sorry, looks like plastic and feels like plastic. There is no way around that.

I have had A LOT of phones ranging from htc to Samsung to just about anything that has come out in the last few years, the iPhone 5c is just a better iPhone 5 (which I had) in a package that at least makes it interesting. I don't know why but it does feel more premium than phones like the htc droid dna and the galaxy s3/4. I'm not trying to fool anyone into thinking I have a 5s and I don't care what people think when they see I have one. I like the dense feel of the 5c and rounded corners are something I have been missing on an iPhone since the 3G. The only phone I've had in the past couple of years that actually felt better in the hand than the 5c is the htc 8x

I agree also, i have the 5S and my girlfriend has the 5C, i much prefer the feel of the 5C it's a shame you can't have it in the same spec as the 5S.

The 5S edges sometimes feel almost sharp, and before anyone says buy a case i don't like cases :)

Another point in 5c favor is that you can actually keep it without a case, while doing that with an iPhone 5/5s is dangerous (aluminum dents and scratches very easily ).

Calm down ...
There is not such a thing like a "crap plastic 5c", since iPhone 5c is very well built and assembled ...

If you say so, you didn't even touch an iPhone 5c in an apple store ....
There is nothing cheap in 5c.
