I'm confused when someone says "aluminum gold" I have the mental capacity to know they mean aluminum gold color. Did we not know that or just acting like children?

I have to admit I knew what he meant ... It may have been an immature side coming out in me ... At least I can admit that .

Well I see your point, and I disagree, My Note3 does not feel cheaper in any way than my old iPhone 3GS, or any of the 5c's I've handled in the store.

Note 3 feels a lot cheaper than 5c ... And galaxy S4 is even worse.

iPhone 3GS wasn't so good, I would agree, and its back developed a lot of micro-fractures over the time.

But iPhone 5c plastic seems to be another league ...

The best thing about the 5c is that the back is whole. It doesn't have that two border thing going on like the 5/5s.

Some plastic is almost as hard as metal.

People don't know that though. People have an idea of what plastic means in their minds: plastic bottles, carrier bags, cartons.

A phone doesn't need to be hard.
It need to be robust and iPhone 5c seems to be.

Actually I like the way it feels in my hand.
I love my iPhone 5, but I think it's too think and hard edged.
I like iPhone 5c slightly more.

Yeah, no matter what people say about the 5c, it exceeds my expectations. When I dropped it, I was so happy that nothing happens to it.

Most of the iPhone 5c's bashers are just in forums like this.
Users are quite happy with it (there are much more complaints about iPhone 5s, like frequent crashes and some itches with touchid).

Just like anything though, people will defend their purchase even up to just making things up or exaggerating.

I do agree though it seems the 5S is more problematic then the 5/5C for obvious reasons.

Actually I'm an iPhone 5 owner, not going to buy a 5c (maybe a 5s, who knows) but I still think the 5c is somewhat better designed

Here are objective facts about the 5c :

-the 5c feels better in hand because of the curved back and lack of sharp edges compared to the 5s

-the 5c feels significantly bigger, thicker and heavier than the 5/5s

-the screen part doesn't blend seamlessly with the rest of the device on the 5c but instead protrudes

-the plastic is good compared to other types of plastic but nowhere near as good as the aluminum of the 5/5s, not even close

-the performance, (battery life), and camera are significantly worse than on the 5s

-the colors of the case are very muted, pale

-the speaker isn't as good as on the 5s

-the home button doesn't feel as good as on the 5s

-there's only $100 difference compared to the 5s.

So all Apple needs to do with the iPhone 6 is make a more curved aluminum device like the iPad Air and Mini, not go plastic.

Fixed that for you. Some would be facts had you not said "significantly". The camera, weight, and battery aren't significantly worse on the 5c.

5c is 20% heavier and 5s has much better low light performance.

The battery life difference isn't that significant though I'll give you that.

Hmm. They should've gave the 5c Touch ID. Then it would be the perfect phone.

The plastic feels incredible, and it looks amazing. It looks better than 5S imho. They should dump the aluminium and go with plastic from now on for all models.

And this certainly is not the same kind of plastic on other plastic phones. I have never seen plastic looking like that.

My Hyundai Sonata looks sleeker than your BMW 5 series. It should be more expensive.
BTW, were you wearing gloves by any chance?

People always say, "The 5c is basically the iPhone 5."

What do they think the 5s is? The 5s is the 5. You won't even notice any difference without the App Store telling you which apps have been "enhanced" ..

Except that there are
tons of hardware differences between 5S and 5...otherwise, yeah, they are pretty much the same. ;-)

Next year the new iPhone will be as thin as the current Touch and have the same rounded design as the iPads, Touch and the 5c made from aluminium.

Just touched a 5C. This should have been the more expensive model imho.

Calm down ...
There is not such a thing like a "crap plastic 5c", since iPhone 5c is very well built and assembled ...

Didn't mean to jump the gun on calling the 5c crap plastic and I'll admit that its a refreshing take to their lineup but in no way is it more premium than the 5s. I actually like plastic, I also own a Note 3, but I'm not fooled into thinking the build quality is anywhere close to the 5s.

Another point in 5c favor is that you can actually keep it without a case, while doing that with an iPhone 5/5s is dangerous (aluminum dents and scratches very easily ).

Nope, I've seen shattered 5C's a plenty.

Its plastic. Its not as rigid and its not immune to scuffs and scratches.

5C needs a case more.

iPhone 5c's also don't scuff. People always said it would but it never does no matter how many times I drop it.

If you say so, you didn't even touch an iPhone 5c in an apple store ....
There is nothing cheap in 5c.

So plastic is not cheap when it is used on iPhone but cheap when used on non apple phones.

I bet you have use this line of argument many times. :p

There will always be a war raging between that 5c and 5s.

Ok? Misunderstanding me. I shouldn't have said everyone, I meant it as a broad statement not absolutes.

This makes NO SENSE.

The iPhone 3GS was priced at $549 (2010).
The iPhone 4 was priced at $549 (2011).
The iPhone 4S was priced at $549 (2012).

And now, Apple takes the iPhone 5, but then gives it an improved body, improved front-facing camera, improved LTE radio, and improved battery, still sells it for $549 - and people are screaming that it now "PRICED TOO HIGH" .

REALLY?

The other phones, some of which sold in reduced form (bumped down to a pathetic 8GB) were sold at $549, and no one cares. But now, with the iPhone 5 sold in an improved form as the iPhone 5C at $549 is causing people to act like Apple is suddenly charging too much.

Btw, the WSJ just reported that Motorola's margin on the Moto G is in the neighborhood of 5%. If Moto wasn't part of Google how long could they survive on razor thin margins? One can argue Apple's margins are too high, but what phone manufacturer besides Samsung is making decent profits selling cheap phones?

Weren't we just making fun of Android users for using a plastic phone? Lol

Who's we? Do yo have a mouse in your pocket?

I'm seriously thinking of keeping the 5c as my in-between phone.

I'll use the 5s, and then when I sell the 5s to get the iPhone 6, I'll fall back to the iPhone 5c while waiting for it to ship.
