I find that in stores, 5c cases are not sold. And the 5/5s cases are lumped together.

It's not the material by itself. It's the way the material is used that also matters.

If an iPhone aluminum shell was as thin as a soda can, it would feel cheap despite being aluminum.

But in the case of samsung you don't feel the thinness of the cover because the cover snapped on like a skin over the underlying rigid frame. The back of the phone with the cover on is remarkably solid to press. And the thin plastic cover is very durable and don't scratch under normal use. I used all my galaxy phones without external case and these phones look brand new after more than a year of use.

I think many people are amazed how phones like note3/s4 feels so solidly built and durable using such thin plastic.

I think the 5c feels exactly like the samsung phones (I know because that's what just left) The iphone 5s is my first iphone and the feel and look is one of main reasons I chose it over all the plastic feeling android phones. I'd get the galaxy s4 over the 5c. Just my .02

Top opinion post. You dun goof'd. Lolz.

Going to start a new thread about the thing I just touched.,.

I think he goofed by saying it was a more premium phone than the 5s, but there have been some valid points brought up in this thread. The 5c is a nice phone and no one should look down upon those who chose it immediately assuming they chose it over the 5s because they are poor.

Why would they? If they can do math, the 5C and 5S are in the same price range.

Seriously?

By that analogy, all the MBPs and MacBook Airs should also be using this premium plastic! And the 5c should have a plastic screen and not glass!

I think it's great that you like the 5c so much and I don't begrudge you your choice.

But, I'll stick with my metal iPhone 5 as I happen to feel the opposite – that metal is more premium than plastic, and the 5 and 5s look better than the 5c. But that's just my opinion.

I don't know if I'd necessarily want a plastic iPhone, but the iPhone 5/5S is definitely not the best looking iOS device on the market today. I think the iPad/iPod Touch look is superior in every way. I own the 5 but can't say I truly love the design. I think the 4 looked better. Hopefully the 6 will look better than the 5.

Well, I have a black iPod Nano, 5th Gen (the one that has the video camera) and that one looks great to me.

We all have our own opinions of course, but I do love the look of my iPhone 5. It has that 2001 Space Odyssey monolith look going and that's what initially attracted me.

The iPhone 4. Well…I hate it.Thick, short and if you put it in a bumper like so many fans of this phone are inclined to do it really brings out the fugly. So many other iPhone 4/4s fans also decided to put this phone in an Otterbox case and that really destroys any beauty the phone has at all. I hate that that stainless steel band destroys what may have been an all black sleek look too. And then the glass just had a nasty habit of breaking. I've seen more cracked iPhone 4/4s's being used over the time they were ubiquitous then I ever did a non-cracked good condition iPhone 4/4s. This tells me it broke too easy.

When Sprint got the 4/4s I was out of contract. I waited a year until the iPhone 5 because I didn't want that phone. Now, there are a lot of iPhone 4/4s fans here who love the phone and it is an iPhone. So, again this is only my opinion. I don't begrude anyone who likes this phone or criticize them, it's just not a phone I care for and those are my reasons why.

I really like black for my iPhones/iPods. So, the white versions of these phones (silver, gold, space gray for the 5s and the colors for the 5c) do not all all appeal to me.

My wife has a white iPhone 5. It's a nice phone, but I much prefer my black one.

However, if I was in the market for some other phone I think I would pursue the HTC One Max. It's metal too and it has a nick look to it.

I bought the 5C with the idea that the tech in the 5S is just not ready yet.

I mean, I'm one of those hardcore gaming demographic, but just look at the App Store right now.

None of those apps require 64 bits.

The plastic on the 3G and 3Gs was prone to hairline cracks, which just got worse over time. It was much more noticeable on the white models, but it happened on the black ones too.

I guess I was lucky then. The only damage my 3Gs ever received was a tiny dent on the metal rim part from a drop on a hard surface. The plastic is fine.

I still think the 5s was a little gimmicky. It's not like 64 bit actually increases the graphics.

I mean, the 5S and 5C can play the same content.

That's not what 64-bit is really about.

Nokia and Samsung use polycarbonate plastic.

What plastic is used in 5c? Super-apple-superior-plastic? :p

do not compare Nokia's plastic with samsung: they are completely different.
Apple is comparable to Nokia indeed.

Samesung it's a joke regarding flagships construction quality.

It's plastic. It's not a better plastic, it's not different plastic. It's plastic. Nokia plastic= samsung plastic = apple plastic. Its plastic. Just plastic. Some are thinner and some are thicker but it's plastic, just plastic.

someone saying that is someone that either didn't have touched a Lumia or an iphone 5c and compared to a samsung, or doesn't want to admit samsung use of crappy materials on flagship devices (I don't have any problem with the use of those plastics in low end devices).

Plastic is not "just plastic", and the cockpit cover of a BMW is different from the cockpit cover of a Dacia. It's still plastic, but it's DIFFERENT (and thinner or thicker means nothing).

Agreed, it's still plastic.
