The 5.8” iPhone X is already pretty heavy. Imagine how heavy a 6.5” stainless steel “iPhone X Plus” (or whatever it will be called) will be.

Say what you want about android, but Samsung is killing it right now in terms of hardware design.

Not a fan of that line-up. If you don't want a Plus-Size device you'll need to part with some serious cash. There is no true iPhone 8 successor.

I would like a phone more closely to the iPhone SE overall size with all screen front. Yesterday I looked at an actual iPhone X for the first time and I know this is too big for me to carry around.

Right for many, wrong for me. Also - I am not paying more than $500 for a smartphone no matter what.

The LCD phone is too big and arbitrarily deleting a feature that Apple has touted as a key function of iOS is crazy.

Unless the iPhone XI or whatever it will be called makes a lot of UI/UX improvements, I will either keep my 7 next fall or buy an 8.

think it's unlikely 3D Touch goes anywhere but I can see them shipping a lot if it's replacing both the 8 and 8 plus price wise.

You can't do everything with long press. In my opinion, the greatest feature of 3D touch is the ability to control a precise text cursor by 3D touching the okeyboard. Setting the text cursor to a preferred position in a text field was a pain for me pre-3D touch

Cursor positioning via a long-press on the keyboard (or another gesture) could easily be implemented by Apple if they chose to do so. It's not something that's uniquely intuitive to 3D Touch.

I love my 3D Touch. Long press isn’t just the same or quick.

Given that I can do everything with a ‘long press’ on my iPhone SE, that uses ‘3D Touch’ on the latest iPhones, is it actually needed?
Best part of 3D touch is the keyboard cursor drag feature. I use it constantly and omission of that feature alone would be enough to give me pause when purchasing a new phone.

I know many people take issue with the notch but personally the bezels on the "old school" iPhones just look so dated. Even my beloved iPad mini -- I look at it and think it's 1/3 bezel. It's the CRT monitor of the 21st Century. So I hope this rumor is true and "classic" iPhone face design is sent to the Smithsonian or MoMA. That's where it should be viewed in 2019 and beyond.

Glass back is cool and also needed for induction charge.

Is it? I have a years old Sonicare toothbrush that charges via induction. Thank the Lord it has no glass parts because I can't count how many times it's slipped out of my hands.

My X is shrouded in a plastic case which I never remove. It charges just fine though that case.

I'm no engineer, but I believe inductive charging won't work through metal like the aluminum on some previous iPhones, but glass is not a requirement. It's just the material Apple decided to use because glass seems classier and more expensive than plastic. Personally, I never see the back of a phone except when I unpack it or repack it. I'd prefer a very light weight plastic over the heavier glass. My BMW is loaded up with plastic as are other mid-luxury cars. If it's good enough for them it should be good enough for Apple.

Wonder if the AirPower will ship before these new phones? Slightly hilarious that the “flagship” phone offers wireless charging and that Apple still hasn’t produced one.
