My 7+ has recently been plagued by safari constantly freezing... the home button has allowed me to close it. Gestures anywhere on the screen did not work. I really would be worried about a phone that doesn't have a physical button.... I guess that's just me though.

That’s odd. My iPhone 7 doesn’t have a “physical” button. My iPhone 6S+ didn’t have one either.
The iPhone hasn’t had a “physical” button since the 6. The round spot in the glass doesn’t move and is the Taptic Engine Also controlled by software. Shut your phone off and see if the button still ”clicks,” I can tell you now it won’t. While I’ve had similar problems as you, gestures like the lock screen and control center still work over the frozen app. So I wouldn’t worry about the new interface as those gestures are controlled separately just like the “click” of the home button.

that's what i've been saying since they announced the phone. the 64 gig is almost 1500$ in some EU countries. i don't see them selling more of this one on a launch weekend than the 6S and 6S+ when they came out, which were 13 million. also taking into account that they probably already sold 4-5 million iphone 8

I’m in India at the moment and the 256 without Applecare comes in at 1560 usd. It’s not even apples to apples. That amount translates to local market is HUGE. It’s drifting ridiculous given the income disparity. This is just a very high end marketing tool in India for the rich to show off and Apple to show their aspirational phone in adds. There’s tech enthusiasts here but seriously it’s an absurd amount of money for a phone. My rationale doesn’t count im American living in India with a different buying mindset and income.

I’d even be scared of walking around with this damn thing. So easy to get robbed.

China is a huge market you think everyone wants an X? Normal iPhones aren’t selling because an android runs wechat just the same. It’s again a high end item.

You simply can’t extrapolate us (and mr) demand worldwide. You guys have subsidies , iup etc so the full cost doesn’t hit you. People abroad will think ten times before buying a phone that’s more expensive than a mbp

The video of Craig Federighi locked out of his own iPhone X speaks for itself.

Enjoy having it "perform exactly as it was supposed to." :D
Omg, just do your research and learn what happened. It would be like someone pressing the home button several times and engaging the bio lock out. It happens to me every week with the iPhone (I hold it in my palm and trigger the Touch ID), so don't act like it's a Face ID problem. The bio lock out is there for a reason and it worked like it was supposed to. End of discussion.

That's one ugly phone even at normal prices. Let alone 25% more expensive than its rivals. :-(

Then you’re lucky. Shortage or surplus doesn’t affect you at all and life goes on. :) beauty in the eye of the beholder and all that jazz ... I happen to like it.

I wonder how current stock is devided between 64gb and 256gb.
I wouldn’ t put it past apple to have more 256gb stock at launch, because the people to order first will pay for the 256gb , as long as they get it fast. First to order will be the diehard fanbase.
Apple knows this.
So i wonder which one to pick at pre order, 64gb or 256gb, to get one soon.
Let alone the spacegrey or the silver.

Ahha. If everyone is getting the 256 you could double guess them and get a 64. But i bet everyone does that so then the 64 gets sold out first. But!!! Apple is super smart and will double guess you all and say there’s a 64 Shortage now everyone will order a 256 which Apple has plenty of.

(I bet it’s half and half but who knows? Order the one you really need and can afford and hope for the best. I’d love to see an article about apples allocation algorithm for this launch. Would be fascinating reading )

There's a thing called customer segmentation.
Apple is not banking on everybody in India buying the iPhone X. What Apple is banking on in emerging markets is to create a desire for the brand as something one would want when one reach the middle class income level. That's what brands like BMW, Nike, etc does. They are not targeting every income segment, but they want to be the desirable brand when those consumers have enough money.

Nobody predicted that the sky would fall. What was predicted was a later launch, and this is exactly what has happened (November instead of the usual September).

So what happened to the iPhone 9 ?? Was it a flop like the iPhone 8 ? I do not think it even made it to release before apple canned it...

The demand wouldn't be as bad but you know tons of people will get online during preorders so they can put it up on eBay. Then if Apple magically has more than expected, and there isn't a profit to be made, then they cancel the auction and return the phone for their money back.

would be funny if the devices would be locked to your apple account that you ordered the phone with for like a month so people wouldn't be able to sell em on ebay

Doesn't work very well with the holiday season approaching and lots of Apple products being purchased as gifts. Imagine getting your shiny new iPhone X as a Xmas present and being told you will have to wait until the 3rd week in January before you can use it

All honesty, I was interested in getting this but if I have to wait until February or March to get the phone I only have a few more measly months until the iPhone Xs is announced. My 6s plus is still working ok (battery a little iffy) and it has a headphone jack Im not really too crazy about this as I was a month ago. Time ticks fast and X will be old fast.
Who says that you will have to wait until then? Oh yeah. Kuo says it. The same guy ensured us that you wouldn't be able to place calls with the 4G Series 3 Apple Watch. Why does everyone believe what Kuo is saying. Like Gregg Thurman above mentioned: He has been all over the map with his predictions. He always tells us that Apple is to blame for his changing opinions, but maybe, just maybe, he's not that good at predicting things.

it would be unlocked by christmas if you order and preorder day :p there are probably better solutions out there. i just don't like people ordering them and selling them on ebay for an absurd amount of money

If true then with such constrained supplies I think that the initial launch will only be to a handful of countries. Perhaps 2 million phones to the states. Half million to the U.K. and Germany and the rest to China. I can’t see worldwide launch till next year.

The iPhone X is launching on November 3rd in 57 countries. Yes, 57 countries. Something isn't right here...

Make 10 predictions , one of them is undoubtably correct. Media focuses on how accurate he is conveniently forgetting the other 9. All hail ming. The Apple prophet of our time. Whatever. We’ll know in a week. Worst case it’s a two month wait. Time marches on its only a toy.

The ones I feel a bit bad for are the upgrade guys. If it’s delayed they’ve just shortened the effective usage time of their phone. And yet, who can say if next years X or X plus will be on time? Might still have a year with the X

i really don't know yet... maybe try the Pixel 2 XL. i'm just sick of my iphone 6! i need something new. again, i don't think it will be as bad as everyone is predicting and i actually think that even if i don't get one on launch day it shouldn't take longer than 2 weeks.
Granted nobody wants to wait too long for something but 3-4 weeks waiting is also reasonable. It's a very first world problem. And trust me I will be very upset if I have to wait even 2 weeks, but it wouldn't be enough for me to drive me to android. The wait is not an issue for me, when it comes to the decision of the cellphone. I know not everyone agrees with me but it's also not meant to be an universal statement.

absolutely, absolutely. but as you said 2-4 weeks is acceptable. but not longer if you order right when preorders go live. that would be disappointing

That is why I call BS on this KGI report. It's just not feasible with that many countries.
[doublepost=1508494682][/doublepost]And sorry; How exactly decided that KGI was the pope of all iPhone rumors? When did that happen?

"Murata (originally with a 60% order allocation or higher) won't be able to resolve its issues before 2Q18, and thus has been fully replaced by second supplier Career."

--> does this mean the quality of the phones on the lounge date will be not so good as when you would buy it 3 months later? Or does that not matter at all?
