Right, the most interesting / curious thing about this article isn't the point about updated LTE, but the "forecast" of a 6.1", EtT, FaceID phone with LCD.

The current X, i.e., the 5.8" OLED model is a terrific size.

Agreed...a near perfect size in my opinion! Interested to see what the line-up of phones will be next year however from naming to pricing...the unusual changes this year make it a tough predictions.

Whether it is next year's iPhone or the following, I do believe Apple will work to get rid of the infamous notch. So I think those mockups are off. Why? Apple's always been about hiding the real technology. Making it seem "magic." And Ive has always said a smooth uninterrupted pane on glass on a phone is "incredibly beautiful."

It's not important whether you like the notch or not, it's more important to Apple that technology be invisible to the casual eye. Right now the notch glares right at you as a necessary piece for the tech to work so they'll get rid of it soon.
I think I might be the only person on earth to say this, but I actually LIKE the notch, not hate or ignore, but like... I like how non-essential information goes to the sides of it, and the rounded screen around it looks quite magical and a bit futuristic. It's like a fluid screen filling every single open space of the phone. I don't think it will go away anytime soon.

Dual SIM iPhone...

Not having to carry two phones would be life changing! Please, please let this be true!!
My main concern with dual sim (though I too have been waiting years for it), is that the app landscape for it is really new and untested. In Android you get things like knox which allow you to sandbox some apps (like whatsapp) and have two different working whatsapp numbers inside it. Even turn off the "work" one during weekends. It will be years until ios get to that level of maturity.

I just don’t see how Apple can convince people lcd is better than oled or vise versa. Seems pointless to have two screen technologies in otherwise identical phones

LCD may be the cheaper version of iPhone until OLED will be standard on the entire lineup.
And if the rumors are correct they could have an LCD model with a different aspect ratio, so it wouldn't be identical to an OLED model.
I like the OLED of X but the LCD on my 8+ is great, so I wouldn't mind having an LCD if I could save a good amount of money

I couldn’t agree more about the size. The Plus never felt right when I held it but the X is the perfect size for me.
