Exactly what do you not believe? Your cover probably does not stay shut because it does Not lay flat. I am not sure why that is. Mine lays flat and has from day 1, and it stays shut upside down regardless of how long you keep it upside down.

mine lays flat now after a night of being flexed.....still falls away, just like a a smartcover, but almost immediate.....because the magnets are not big enuf (strong enuf) to hold it upside down. Show us a pic or a video...calling BS here...
Are you serious? How would you know that I wouldn't use double sided tape to hold it closed? Guess I'd have to have a credible witness verify the taping. That's too funny.

note: I don't think this is a problem. I only have one case the will do this as it uses suction cups (Speck 3D) but I don't believe yours does either. I have no idea what your motivation is, nor do I care.

SO I took my case and held it upside down and made sure i held it near the very end of the unit where both halves of the case are joined together , and it did not open. I held it for 60 seconds, and nothing. I even shook it lightly, and it did not open unless i shook it a bit more. Sure there is a small gap in the middle where there are no magnets, but it did not open. Did You ever think that some cases may be a bit heavier than others, or that there may be a difference in cover weight with the different colors? With the price of these cases, i doubt the specs on the magnets are very strict, and I'm sure that some magnets may be a bit stronger than others.
Regardless of all that, I sure wouldn't call someone on this forum a liar if the cover on my cheap case opened, and he said his did not.
It just isn't that important to me, and I really wouldn't care. I guess you think that I for some reason, intentionally went to represent this case, which I have absolutely no interest in, to be more than what it is.
It is an inexpensive $20 plastic case which i was given, and I decided others may want to know about. Thats all it is.

I'll tell ya what. I am located near Philadelphia Pa. If there is any other person on this form that is near here, or maybe you are near here, bring $500 with you and I will do the same. We will meet at some designated location and perform a "cover test" . We will then hold my iPad upside down in the presence of a third independent party with my Khomo cover on it, and if it stays shut, you pay me $500, and if it falls open, I'll pay you $500. We'll make sure it is held upside down for a full 60 seconds.
This hasn't been worth my time, but the $500 challenge will make it so. What do you say?
I am so certain that there is someone on this forum that lives near me, that I'll even give him $250 of the $500 for showing up for the test.

Case looks good actually, feeling a lot better about my purchase now. Once I get mine I'll check and see how strong the magnets are, as it could just be a YMMV thing. Or it's possible the back case is pushing the smart cover juuuuuust enough that the magnets aren't holding as well as they could.

there is a reason $20 cases are $20 and $50 cases are $50 and so on, you get what you pay for. This is true with everything Although just about everything is made in china there are american companies that control the quality of their products made there. Apple for example as Un-American as they are, they have high standards of their quality thus having the workers in their sweat shops in China do a better job for less than they would if they produced their products here thus helping our economy and giving US citizens jobs so they could buy more overpriced Apple products

I ordered mine on Aug 29th and received it today, though tracking said I am supposed to receive it on Sept 8th. They shipped to WA from FL. That was rather quick for only $2.99. You ever know...you might just receive it tomorrow!

Maybe they just missed putting one of the magnets in the case as I'm sure the yoobao done the same until revision 3 of the case where they added an extra magnet and now it stays shut when turned upside down.
I am certainly more than enuf of a person to admit when I was wrong - all I wanted was the video. My motivation was I was sick of all the shills here posting that their case was the best and actually they just worked for the company. We have a girl doing that right now. So good luck with your case, I don't see how with the weight of the front cover and the small magnets it stays closed, but the proof is in your video.

It's all good Glen. No hard feelings here. I do realize that these cases are inexpensive, and I am sure the QC of the magnets is almost non existent, so i expect some cases to fall open, and some to stay closed. There could even be a difference in the weight of the front covers depending on which color it is.
And I do agree with what you said about all the posts by the product sellers on this forum. Too one sided.

PS I did receive a red one today and it falls away - if I hold it like you did with one finger on the last section, it stays, but if no fingers are on the front, meaning holding with two hands and inverting it, it falls away. Let me know what yours does...the red one is outstanding looking though, will look very nice with black iCarbon stripes
