Makes sense. The iPad Pro was designed this way as well. I almost believe the iPhone Pro series would adopt this design, however the base models will keep the fun, rounded design they have now. Just a thought.
Yeah you mention the X, but then go on to pretend that it doesn't somehow mark the start the start of a new 3-year cycle.I didn't exclude the X - I mentioned the X in my post; and inferred (maybe it was my earlier post) the X/XS/11/(11S, probably). ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The 11 basically is an S model. Apple didn’t do anything special for this update. It really is small improvements on a phone that was already small improvements.Interesting. It seems strange that an S model would have a redesign as opposed to the 11 - maybe they'll skip to 12?
You should probably stop making predictionsActually the iPhone has been more like 4 year cycles: 4/4S/5/5S I consider essentially the same design (albeit a small rev for the 5/5S), 6/6S/7/8 = same design, the X was sped up & released to due to compete with no-bezel phone competition and the iPhone anniversary.
As I earlier posted, I expect the new redesign in 2021; 2020 I bet is a 11S with 5G, reverse-wireless charging, and some AR camera stuff.
The later revision of the original 4 used for Verizon didn’t have it. That antenna re-design was recycled in the 4S as well.Yes, but 4s and 5 werent...4 just had too few cut outs..Now even in X/Xs/11 pro we have 4 so double than the ip4
no doubt the iphone 4 was the nicest looking iphone that they have come out with. Not sure how it would translate to a large size though with all the sharp angles that it had

Which was a unrealistic way you would hold a phone, it was people just trying to find things wrong with Apple phones so they can have their 15 minutes of fame.
I don't think so - Kuo was referring to the increased cost of of the shell & bands only. The cost of these is relatively minor compared to the other costs (screen, CPU, battery), so Apple's overall cost increase won't be anywhere near 50%.An increase in unit costs of 50 percent. Am I reading that right?
I came here to say that the 2018 iPad Pro I have reminds me of the iPhone 4 design. If Apple does this with the 2020 iPhones it'll remind me of old rock bands who get back together and reminisce about the good old days lol

Or ”5G”
Remember, the original iPhone was “iPhone” and the next was “iPhone 3G”
