Apple Watch "X" - supposed to be major redesign.
Glucose monitoring is not coming in 2024, no arguing on that, at least 3-4 years away.
MicroLED - who cares at this point really, hate been rumored for a decade it seems ...

But, apple needs to step up on health sensors, blood pressure could be ready for 2024

This is the same guy that claimed it was the the Titanium chassis that was making the iPhone 15 Pro's over heat when it was bad acting apps. Take everything he says with a grain of salt.

However, he said that Apple Watch integration with Apple's upcoming Vision Pro headset could "create an unparalleled and innovative health management experience" that boosts shipments.
so he also estimated less than 1 million VP sales (700k if I recall right) - so that will boost AW sales by what? in this case, he's definitely smoking dope...

Don't mind this at all... Loving the original AWU so far and would not mind holding on to it for an extra year. At this point, I'm only updating if there is a significant design change.

as expecte but glad i didnt wait. My series 9 should last me well into when i can get a micro LED watch… apple has these nonsense rumors every year for the next phone or watch being some major improvement and they never happen…I remember when I thought the iPhone 13 was gonna get a 10x periscope lens… hell at one point I thought the series 3 Apple Watch was gonna get microLED😂

Still on my 2018 AW4... will likely replace it for a 2027 model that has a replaceable battery per EU law.
The battery can be replaced now by a tech at an Apple Store.

EDIT: Seems like the device is replaced, not the battery, so my statement isn’t accurate. Will Apple eventually re-design the Watch so that the battery can easily be replaced by a tech, and at a lower cost? I think so. Will the battery ever be user replaceable? Impossible.

I wasn’t expecting microLED nor glucose monitoring anytime soon, so not surprising to hear.

However, I really hope Apple makes some design changes, battery life improvements, and/or some more health sensor tracking for next year’s X.

The thing looks far too gadgety. Really should hone in on the fashion aspect again and leave the Ultra for the enthusiasts who don’t care about looks.

Currently on the 6 series and have had very little reason to upgrade for years. No major UX change or feature benefit. The incremental screen increase is nice but ultimately the looks dated.

It’s vicious circle isn’t it. If manufacturers don’t continually add new “innovations” and/or features to their products they are castigated for being boring and stale (see any MacRumors comment section for verification). But adding more and more features just makes the thing more complicated and more prone to issues because of the ‘innovation’. It’s a lose/lose, damed if you do, damed if you don’t proposition for manufacturers. And it all boils down to the fickleness and unhappiness of the buying public.

And competition has little or nothing to do with it as survey after survey shows very little “switching” going on between platforms on both sides, especially in the mobile device market.

I've upgraded every three years since the original (S0, S4, S7) and right now I can't think of a reason why I'd buy next year's model instead of just getting my S7's battery "serviced" (i.e., get a refurbished watch so Apple can destroy the old one).

Tim Apple:

Apple Watch has been a massive success... redefining what a smartwatch is and what its capable of...

This year is the tenth anniversary and we are so excited to present to you... Apple Watch X

The same watch, with the same band, same features and same performance..

We are so excited

(Applause, polished graphics... )

How did you get them to replace it? I have apple care on the 7 and 8 and want to know what the threshold is for a new one
Maximum Battery Capacity has to be less than 80% (if you have AppleCare). They replaced my series 4 with a series 5 about a month ago when I noticed the health was 77% Maximum Capacity. The AppleCare should transfer over to the new watch if they replace it. I need to see them about that since it hasn't happened yet. Battery Health is located in settings on your watch. Hope this helps.

I don’t mind annual updates. It prevents customers from buying 1-year old tech at full price.

That said, some Watch models can probably just be announced via press releases, like some iPad models.

Kuo should be using his supply chain insights to tell us about machines with M3 processors...

I think an M3 would be overkill in an Apple Watch. :p

That said, an M3 is actually overkill in a Macbook for most people. Faster is always better, I get it, but if anyone out there is bringing an M2 to its knees, they really need an M2 Pro/Max/Ultra, not an M3.

Other than the first Apple Watch has there been significant (Apple watch) innovation since? It doesn't feel like it...

According to a recent visit, I heard otherwise. Unless you have the express replacement with AC+ where they send you a new physical watch and you send yours back... it would be a 5-7 repair turnaround where you send the watch off and then return it.
