I actually think the opposite. I think the 12 mini and the 12 Pro Max will be the two most popular models, where as the 12 and 12 pro Will be at number three and four respectively.
Now if we’re taking the lineup as a whole, I think it’s going to go like this.
1: iPhone 12 Mini
2: iPhone 12 Pro Max
3: iPhone 12
4: iPhone SE
5: iPhone 12 Pro
Personally, and this may just be my opinion, the 12 mini will sell the best because there’s an absolutely huge demand for small phones, and it’s the cheapest. people who currently have the iPhone 11, and are on yearly iPhone upgrade programs with installment plans, would like to stick with that $29 a month, which equals to 699/24 months. Going from the 11 to the 12 mini is the only way to keep that price point. If they go to the regular 12, while they would keep the screen size, they would also increase the price by $100.
Also, the 12 pro max will sell way better than the 12 pro, mainly because if you’re already going for a 12 pro, and the 12 Pro Max has a better camera than even the 12Pro, people would just rather get the phone with the best camera if they’re going to spend that much money.
Which leads me to a question, what exactly is the point of the regular 6.1 inch 12 pro? The max has a better camera, the regular 12 has better pricing, so this weird middle child device seems to just be stuck. It’s not the best, it’s not the worst, but yet it’s still extremely expensive for what it is.
To me, if I was Apple, I would have the lineup like this.
iPhone 12 Mini: $699, two cameras, all the color choices, 5.4 inch screen.
iPhone 12: $899, 6.1 inches, triple camera, 5G, stuff like that.
iPhone 12 pro: $1099, 6.7 inches, triple camera with LightR, 6 GB of RAM, and the best battery.
So there’s a mini, middle, and a pro.
The 12 and 12 pro wouldn’t be equivalent anymore.
You you have three choices, the mini would have a double camera, the 12 would have A triple camera, then the pro would have a triple camera with lightR.
It would simplify the lineup a lot, no need for 2 6.1 inch devices, just one 6.1 model.
