If you look at the Windows PC market, all the vendors sell 8GB laptops, so Apple is just one among the crowd. 16GB is for the higher end laptops. Why Apple is the only one getting slammed for 8GB, I don’t know, but you’re right that a ton of people buy 8GB versions and are quite happy with them. For most people 8GB is plenty. This forum just happens to be filled with almost exclusively power users for which 8GB isn’t sufficient. But for the average computer user, it’s just fine.I honestly don't understand why they think it's a good idea to look like an underpowered piece of garbage compared to the $500-700 table at Walmart. Like, 8GB to start was questionable in 2020. It's been 4 ****ing years. RAM isn't expensive, I honestly don't care if it's on the package.
Wait no I'm dumb, I know exactly why; 'cause people are buying it. If that stopped, maybe they'd figure out why.
If they allow typing on a virtual keyboard, it’ll have to be a touchscreen.I believe the big boss himself said that they have no intention and making a touchscreen op when they can still convince suckers like myself to buy both laptop and an iPad
Folding phones are amazing, and whenever Apple decides to invent one... you'll quickly change your tune.this is where folding screens makes sense.
not stupid folding phones.
Tim Cook is happening... Apple is in dire need of new leadership beyond a man who's only expertise is human cost and shareholder value. In all seriousness, Apple is collapsing before our very eyes. Cancelled car project, useless Apple Vision Pro, and this bs. What is happening?
not sure about that - the problem with a laptop is the bad working position.this is where folding screens makes sense.
not stupid folding phones.
Remember the Touch Bar?
16GB is for the higher end laptops.
Give me a physical keyboard every time.Folding MacBook means you are typing on a glass keyboard and have TouchBar-like controls on the bottom half of the screen. Doesn't sound like a good idea at all.
It was borderline little even in 2010. They even sell Macbook Pros now with 8GB. “pro” like in “profundly hampered”Like, 8GB to start was questionable in 2020. It's been 4 ****ing years. RAM isn't expensive, I honestly don't care if it's on the package.
I hear you. Bring back the 12" MacBook with M-Chip, Apple, and I'll buy this one additionally as my on-the-road-MacBook.Meanwhile, I miss the 11-inch MacBook Air options we used to have…
The problem for me personally, is that I have an expensive piece of licensed software for Mac, and need a Mac to run it, obviously. I hate to say it, but boycotting Macs because the ram upgrades are expensive isn’t really an option.I honestly don't understand why they think it's a good idea to look like an underpowered piece of garbage compared to the $500-700 table at Walmart. Don't forget Bill Gate(s)Bend gate, crack gate, battery gate, keyboard issue gate
This product might set a record for "gates per product"
Well, I am not Mac dependent, so it doesn't bother me much, whatever Apple does or doesn't.The problem for me personally, is that I have an expensive piece of licensed software for Mac, and need a Mac to run it, obviously. Apple has long term, software invested users over a barrel.
Yes, the MBP of the M3 Pro/Max variety. As so many of you say, the 14” M3 MBP is not a high end laptop. It is for professionals who do not need very much power because they spend all of their time in apps like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SalesForce, etc. with maybe a light smattering of iMovie or Photoshop Elements. You mean like, say, MacBook Pro?
