They dont have to "find a way". Samsung literally just released their updated Flip and Fold 4 at the same price point as the 3. They didn't cut corners. They improved their devices.

Why cant apple? Again, its greed.
Partially greed, but if people keep coughing up the cash even with increase, why would they stop. Maybe if people would think hard and not buy this time if they upgrade with crappy upgrades and people barely able to pay needs, they might actually have to stop.

But when inflation goes back down, do you think the price of the devices will go back down? Nope. Its greed on Apples part.
Inflation doesn't 'go back down' like I think you are implying. Yes, if inflation subsides to 2-3% levels, it is down, but has not reversed the previous inflation. Unless you think deflation is on the horizon.

So much for Apple "not passing the increased prices of components" onto the consumers...You just knew Apple was gonna do that...Greed...you just can't help yourself...also they have a fiduciary duty to their shareholders, so it was gonna help at some point...

Helpfully this rumor is incorrect and Apple only increases the prices by 5% instead of the 10% that is being reported...

I don’t think anyone will not buy it. But, I’m curious how low the sales would have to be before Apple even considered the price was too high. Back when Steve Jobs said people will “vote with their wallets”, enough customers and tech journalists could complain and they would probably listen. Now, i think the profit machine is too stuck for them to ever care. But it’s just like rent, it will never go down. Oh well.

Why is everyone saying inflation is the cause of this price increase? Even if there was no inflation but deflation they would increase it (maybe even more). Just because with every redesign they up the price. Untill nobody buys them, they decrease the price with $100 with the reason they want to make iPhones 'affordable' for everyone. It happend with the Macbook Air.

Exactly. Don't complain while hitting ADD TO CART. You have to not buy it. Consumers have full power but don't use it.

The sales could be lowered but the profit for Apple isn't. This is exactly what Tim Cook is chasing. Our bank account money.

Yea and with so many deep in the ecosystem, they don't even care so much if you didn't upgrade from another iPhone. They would only possibly care if an Android person didn't move to Apple, or if an Apple person totally left.

But I have to....my iPhone X's battery life is nearly dead and the performance is getting slower and slower with each new OS release...
You HAVE to by a Pro model? You HAVE to buy an iPhone at all?
**Checks Apple website...** Yup, completely forced.

I've got my eye on the Google Pixel 6. Reacquainting myself with these iPhone prices does put things into perspective. That said, I may as well hold out for another $100 off (probably come this black Friday).

Considering that Apple is removing the iPhone mini, a 15% increase price for the regular iPhone 14 will be a steep increase of the lineup starting price

Apple has never been a charity, but this price rise will hurt
So there's no more iPhone at a smaller screen size (nor cheaper price) anymore? If so, that really bites. You'd think they'd want to keep more entry level pricing to increase their user base to get more subs to their services.

I made my peace with it already, deep in myself I already knew…

I just want the notch gone. A little higher price is irrelevant, I see no reason in buying a new iPhone if the notch is still there.

Because you NEED a new iPhone every year or two or three, or can't buy one generation older at now a discount. You want a premium, technology leading product, the latest and greatest, all the bells and whistles, a pocket sized computer with significant power and capabilities and amazing camera tech along with the software that runs it, be prepared to pay for it. Or get a 12 or 13 new/refurbished at savings once the 14 releases.

If wages don't keep up, the bottom is about to fall out of the market on luxury and tech goods this winter.

It'll get to the point where I hold on to a phone for its full support cycle.

This has been obvious since Apple hiked the new MacBook Airs 25% over the previous generation. Anyone dare guess what a 12.9” iPad Pro is gonna set someone back in October? 😂
Worst case scenario: almost $4500 in Canada for the 2TB with 24GB RAM, Cellular, Magic Keyboard, Apple Pencil, Apple Care, and taxes. I’m targeting the fully loaded iPad anyway so I can keep it for a while for my next iPad. That’s why I’m so stressed about trying to find a job asap

I'll be honest, I have had better discussions with my 7 year-old about finances and priorities than I think I'd have with some folks on these forums.

I mean, at this point, who cares. What isn't twice the cost it was 2 years ago? $100 for a phone used for a year is nothing.
