I'm not really sure the watch needs to be thinner. I've been wearing the ultra for the last few months and when I change to my 45mm series 7 it feels very discreet..
Fair enough. I usually do a 30+ minute workout each day and I have cellular, but I’m rarely without me phone. It depends on what you do with the watch. Do a workout and you won't get two days. Use cellular without an iPhone and you won't get two days.
My guess is it would be something like the MacBook's MagSafe Charger magnets, which are really strong and can’t just come off by accident.I'm a bit sceptical about this... if the attachment mechanism is magnetic only, it sounds like a receipt for disaster. It would be too easy to lose (either my accident or for someone to snatch it).
From what I hear, including my own view point, battery time is by far the most asked for improvement. The Apple Watch is the one Apple product that genuinely needs to get thinner. Between this redesign and the dropping of support in watchOS 11 this is definitely going to be the year I finally upgrade from my series 4.
There are many factors that affect the battery. I often trained without a phone in the field, where theFair enough. I usually do a 30+ minute workout each day and I have cellular, but I’m rarely without me phone.
Plus their seems to be a real inconsistency between people personal experiences.
And the strength of these magnets does not make me hold my MBP by the cable with full confidence in the magnetic field. I don't feel like I should trust it on the first day of release and buy it right away. These three protrusions may be small, but they give me physical confidence. My guess is it would be something like the MacBook's MagSafe Charger magnets, which are really strong and can’t just come off by accident.
The magnets might be strong, but also made to come lose very easy if you snag the cord. Basically that's what they're made to do. If the watch falls of every time I snag it on something it will be annoying to to the point of being useless. My guess is it would be something like the MacBook's MagSafe Charger magnets, which are really strong and can’t just come off by accident.
No. My Series 6 still lasts a bit more than 24 hrs.And same crappy 18 hour battery life...
I disagree. It really needs better battery life first - when it reaches a week out can get thinner.
At a minimum, I think three days of activities should be possible with no recharge: charge it Thursday night, go away for the weekend, get home to the charger Sunday night.
Meh, getting through a day is fine for me. If I just wanted more battery life I would have gotten an ultra already. From what I hear, including my own view point, battery time is by far the most asked for improvement.
If that were actually true, the iPhone 15 Pro wouldn’t get it. Every year updates come to their devices that won’t be supported by a previous ones. In this case the iPhone 15 Pro actually gets it, so I don’t see the problem.Apple is in the game of quickly outdating fairly recent devices again to resell basically the same product.
Super disappointed with the discontinuation of SE 1st gen support, this was on the market less than 2 years ago. The new (underwhelming) features introduced in watchOS 11 don't justify the decision at all. There is nothing that stands out as hardware demanding.
Also, look at the iPhone 14 pro and iPhone 15, people who bought them recently were in for a nasty surprise with the "no AI for you" announcement.
It was released in 2015 but it was announced in 2014.Apple Watch was introduced in 2015, so the 10th anniversary is next year
There's not enough room on the current displays to increase the screen size by that much. Plus, Apple has never talked about screen size when describing watch models, only case size. Screen size is in the tech specs, mainly in pixels (though they mention the overall display size in sq. mm.).I've held off buying any new bands since the new band mechanism leaks started, I know they'll do an adapter if true but I'd still rather wait.
As for the design, I welcome a larger display as I HATE the ultra because its butt ugly and disgusting but I think old ming is mixing screen sizes up with case sizes.
I imagine he actually means 41mm will have the screen of the 45mm and the 45mm will have the screen of the Ultra (49mm), so a redesign with tiny bezels could achieve this without a huge size increase.
Either way, I hope midnight is still a colour.
It was introduced in September 2014.Apple Watch was introduced in 2015, so the 10th anniversary is next year
If iPhone 15 Pro didn't get it then they would have no AI announcement to make at WWDC at all which would have been a terrible decision business wise.If that were actually true, the iPhone 15 Pro wouldn’t get it. Every year updates come to their devices that won’t be supported by a previous ones. In this case the iPhone 15 Pro actually gets it, so I don’t see the problem.
