How many people carry wireless charger when traveling? Wired charger is still needed even if your main charger is a wireless one.

Many I know carry a wireless charger when travelling as it’s compact. People buying these iPhones will likely have a power brick at home anyway.

People spend more money on damn cases for the price of what the 20w charger will cost.

Those with the 11 pro max will last all day easily so wireless charger is enough even when travelling

What’s funny here is if apple added the power brick and added £30 onto the price would people Care? No so why should removing it and keeping phones the same price matter?

I would be willing to guess 95%+ of buyers of iPhone 12 have a 5 watt charger at home. That’s my guess.

Only 5% would be first time users. Again, that’s just a guess.

Great a disposable iPhone or maybe it’s solar powered.
If it’s true there will be no charger included then this is a brain dead move. Are not many iPhone purchases also the first iPhone purchased? This would leave a really bad impression to anew user.

So much angst towards this rumour, yet majority of those who were planning on getting the 12 series will still end up getting one lol

Wait at least another year to upgrade. For the short term, we're all going to pay a too-high premium for 5G. Personally, I was surprised Apple didn't wait another year to include it, as they've done in the past (LTE/4G rollout). For a large majority of users, 5G is *not* a must-have feature; most won't even be able to "feel" the difference, compared to recent LTE tech.

Apple should have stopped shipping 5W charger long ago but they did not. It's a crime to use 5W chargers with new iPhones.

To everyone complaining, how many of you don't have a charger already at home? I'm guessing not one. Apple knows this and doesn't want to keep wasting resources. If you don't have one, which would be rare from my guess, they do offer one for sale

For many people each phone and device often needs its own charger that stays with that device. The device may change hands to a second owner and then be handed down to a third each time with its charger.

Yes I have chargers for my other devices, they plug in at night to their respective chargers. When I hand down a device to my kids it goes to them and charges at night on its respective charger. When I have sold devices they go to their new owner boxed with their original charger.

So no I do not have an extra charger and nobody who operates in the same fashion as myself would have.

Lol. Why are people so upset? Apple is a business. It's not here to be your friend despite the 'woke' marketing campaigns where the CEO talks about equality and gender politics.

They are pure greed when it comes to money. Don't buy into their phoney virtue-signalling and fake platitudes.
Can’t there be one thread that doesn’t have BS faux-politics in it? Woke marketing? Equality and gender politics?

Immorality-signaling at its finest—how un-woke of you 🙄

Well if we keep 80% happy of our customers which happen to be repeat customers then we did good. They have chargers anyways.

Tims boys are sure keeping I harder to buy in

Lol over a Damn charger? Why is this a big deal? Just so we can stockpile chargers in our houses? I have enough Damn cables as it is
I agree tbh I haven't even used the charger that came with the iPhone 11 Pro Max. I opted on buying a wireless charging pad which only set me back $42 and still works like a charm.

So you don’t have an iPad? Just the iphone?

I am curious how many students with AirPods are selecting no-thanks when buying a new Mac.

I’m sure none, but AirPods have high resale value unlike a charger which is pretty much not worth the effort to sell.

Apple doesn’t win. Damned it they do or don’t. Bless the critics. They should include a coupon for free 5w charger and EarPods. But that disenfranchises first time buyers.

Five guys coupon should do.

I have a pile of 5W chargers from other devices, too. Various sony doodads, light strips, cameras, several flashlights, tchotchkes of all shapes and varieties come with usb-a chargers. Even if you are a first time iphone buyer, if you owned pretty much any other smartphone, or any of a ton of other devices, or a computer with a USB port, or a cable box/der with a USB port, etc, you probably have a charger.

It’s stupidity. Samsung includes a fast charger in the box because they aren’t stingy ******s. When you justify getting bent over, it leads to more bending over.
The iPhone 10r was $750. The iPhone 11 is $700. And the iPhone 12 is rumored to launch at $650. We'll see about the iPhone 12 pricing, but a $50 discount isn't bad.

I’ve skimmed majority of this thread’s comments and I must say I’m exceedingly surprised no one has really drawn the similarity to Apple never including a power adapter with iPods.

if memory serves me correctly, very few, if any iPods came with a power adapter. Frankly, we should be surprised the iPhone ever came with a power adapter. Apple very easily could’ve started selling iPhones back in 2007 the same way they sold iPods...without power adapters.

For iPods, power adapters always have been an additional accessory and it was assumed you’d charge your device via your computers USB port (though with the current lack of traditional USB ports on present day Macs, that presents a problem. But that is a whole other rant).

I see the argument for including the power adapter as well as the argument for excluding it and I support Apple either way provided the optional accessory prices are relatively reasonable.

Just remember this is Ming, soothsayer of rumor and right about not much. So I give this relevance rating of stuff all.

It’s just a rumour for now. I have Big doubts it’s true. But when it comes out and no charger is included, just don’t buy it. Wait for The next iPhone. Or buy previous one with included charger. If they see sales drop massively or there’s enough complaints (like butterfly keyboard) they’ll probably put one in there for the next iPhone. No need to upgrade every year or get the latest model anyways.
