The iPhone 10r was $750. The iPhone 11 is $700. And the iPhone 12 is rumored to launch at $650. We'll see about the iPhone 12 pricing, but a $50 discount isn't bad.

Exactly.

Right now I have four 12w and four 5w chargers in the drawer right next to me. This is in addition to a few other chargers (wired or wireless) sitting around the house. I suspect most of the 500+ complainers in this thread are in the same situation.

Apple is brilliant (and gutsy) for not including a charger. Imagine the amount of e-waste that can be saved. Most people say they care about the environment, but in reality they are fast to poison the earth for a bit of convenience.

imagine if base storage dropped to 32gb.

Yes, drop the rubbish wired earphones. They are unlistenable and hardly anybody uses them anymore.

Dropping the charger is a very bad idea. It will encourage the use of cheap and unsafe Chinese knock-offs.

Seems like a good idea. Sure it's profitable but customers get the phone at a reduced cost and can buy the charger and headset they want. Ideally, they already have both.

How about they include the 5W charger as usual ... and releasing a 20W charger as an accessory?
5W charges will be REALLY slow on large phones which most iphone 12 models will be according to the rumors. They should definitely be including chargers but better ones than 5W.

Sure. why not charge 1200 dollars for a device and not pack accessories that add less than 2 dollars to the bill of materials?

Because, contrary to what the angry mob would have you believe... it isn't about the cost of the accessories.

I can understand, to be honest. I never, ever use my wall outlet to charge my phone. Though, this goes a bit too far.

If it comes without the charger it needs to be cheaper - good for me, as I have more chargers laying around than devices to use them with. Same with all the earphones I got with the iPhones and never used. Less trash is actually good news, I would definitely go for an option of buying the device with no accessories.

So you don’t have an iPad? Just the iphone?
Yes 2x iPad Pro that use USB-C, 2x iPad & 3x iPhone Lightning.

We have a power board next to at a central coffee table in our house where all devices are plugged in each night before going to bed. Yes I know there are other ways but our family found this works for us with all devices in one place overnight.

Sleep is sleep time for us and our devices - yes we have teenagers :)

For many people each phone and device often needs its own charger that stays with that device. The device may change hands to a second owner and then be handed down to a third each time with its charger.

Yes I have chargers for my other devices, they plug in at night to their respective chargers. When I hand down a device to my kids it goes to them and charges at night on its respective charger. When I have sold devices they go to their new owner boxed with their original charger.

So no I do not have an extra charger and nobody who operates in the same fashion as myself would have.

Doh! I didn't think about when you sell it or give it to a family member or something. I see your point.

But I'm guessing that's good for apple, making re-sale-ability harder...(?) (Bad for consumer)

iPhone 12 won’t include the Apple logo, since it gets covered by a case anyway.

Every man and his dog have USB-A charger. That's probably true. But the iPhone 12 is rumored to come with lightning to USB-C cable. So that means most consumers will end up buying a new charger anyway
No. The majority of people will have not only a USB-A charger but one or more USB-A to lightning cables. They will just plug the new phone into exactly the same charging setup they already have.
For those few who don’t, they can buy a USB-A to lightning cable or the USB-C charger, if they don’t also have one of those. For the vast majority of people not having a charger in the box won’t make any difference at all.

Agree with this, my family does this. Plus I’ve only had owned 2 smartphones in my life. An iPhone 4s which eventually died forcing me to get the iPhone 6s.
As for the bricks, I’ve lost one and the other one died recently. So I’m using the USB socket on my power board which I am convinced is not even giving out 5w.

I may be one of the rare ones but I would appreciate if it does come with a power brick.
