Apple will do exactly the same thing like they did with the iphone 7, preparing the world for no more headphone jack. And they did it before iphone x came out to take the heat with one year in advance. Now no charger and next year the iphone will be with no port

I am going by this video.

No 5w charger as far as I can see. Just lightning cable and headphones.

I didn't need to watch the video. The box isn't big enough to hold a charger.

I am pretty sure most of their devices don't come with a charger. iPod touch (as you showed), airpod pro, magic keyboard/trackpad/mouse, aTV remote, and pencil. They assume you have something else to charge it.

1a. Greedy Apple.
1b. They are business.

2a. I already have adapters.
2b. What about first-time buyers?

3a. What’s next? No phone in the box?
3b. For environment.

4a. Lower the price then.
4b. You are poor.

5a. iPod & 3DS also do this.
5b. Those are cheaper.

6a. I’m done with Apple
6b. Yeah, see you next rumor.

7a. It’s just a rumor.
7b. Too late. It’s true to me.

It doesn't have to be a charger from an iPhone, it can be any USB compliant charger. I'm pretty sure all non iPhones from recent years come with such chargers as well.

not everyone, especially current iPhone users like myself, have a 18 - 20 WATT CHARGER. which what I was mainly talking about.

Unacceptable. iPhone 12 needs USB-C, and it needs a charger in box. Nothing less.
Totally agree. USB-C with fast data transfer, fast charge along with cable and charger. Over $1K for smartphone without charger and USB-C should be unacceptable. The lightning cable is beyond outdated now and so is the slow data transfer/sync with the lightning cable.

usb c chargers aren’t so common yet so make no sense for Apple not to include this fast charger with its phone

Well, if the rumours have any weight to them, Apple is in the process of eventually dropping the charging port from the iPhone altogether, so it makes little sense to transition to USB-C for a year or two.
That would be like dropping Public Beta Testers and Devs. Restoring and debugging over the Air is the pure hell.

glibly:

European Union:
"Companies need to unify charging standards to reduce waste"

Apple:
*removes charger to reduce waste*

But in all seriousness, whilst this move can easily seen as greedy, it will also let Apple reduce the price of their phone lines by $50 whilst still maintaining a perceived prestige price of the product. Obviously it remains to be seen if they chose to reduce the prices at all.

It also literally halves the packaging and shipping costs for hundreds of millions of units.

And makes logistics easier. Don’t need separate skus for different chargers in different countries.

I want a fast charger in the box for the price I pay, like the android phones. Apple sells these chargers already.
why the hell should I be using my last gen charger which charges at a much slower rate ? This is getting ridiculous with their nickel and diMing.

If true an odd thing to do, a lot of people won’t have a fast charger still so getting them out there could have made sense. I do however have both a fast charger and plenty of cables (although I break at least one a year) the thing I will miss will be the EarPods, hope you will still be able to get the cheap with the device.

Agreed. While most iPhone buyers will have a charger or two available, not many of them will be fast-charging, which all the latest iPhones support. I could use a couple more of them myself (I bought one since my XS Max didn’t come with it).

Even if you sell a phone, the expectation is you supply the charger it came with too, so it’s not like people are accumulating ridiculous quantities of them. Nobody seems to care about the earphones however. It’s a purely profit-driven motive here. Thanks Tim (as usual)! 🤨
