Despite what some rumors have been floating around, I do fear the prices of the Pro's will be raised ...thinking $100 compared to last year on most models. MAYBE the Mini, "regular" 13 models might stay the same? Just guessing of course.

(12 Pro Max 256 last year 1,199.00, 13 Pro Max 256GB this year $1,299.00)

*They will do it because...well they can - it will still sell. Plus blame on chip shortages. The classic supply & demand, ugh)

I think Apple will stick to their typical profit margin on hardware like iPhone. 38% or 42% - somewhere in there.

We get what we pay for - no tricks or price gouging.

I hear tons of people talking about “inflation” all the time - but Apple as a company is run like a extremely tight ship. I heard that they bought 75% of TSM semiconductor output out till like 2024 - probably at an agreed to price. Apple’s good biz management is saving us money.

Go try to buy a Mercedes with a V-8 in it next year or a Porsche 992 911 these days - semiconductor shortages are driving the price of these cars up. But what about your new iPhone 13? Again, be thankful Apple company is run so well.

Absolute apple fan here, but if my iPhone X has 256gb.. it’s four years old now.. memory is so much cheaper now in 2021.. how Apple even sells a 64 or 128gb phone that now shoots 4k video with no memory card still perplexes me…
My iPhone X had 256, My iPhone 11 had 512. My iPhone 12 has 128 and so will my iPhone 13. I'm a fairly heavy phone user and I've never needed more than 128. 64Gb was stretching it even back in the day, but with everything in the cloud these days local storage just isn't as needed.

Not sure if you thought I was joking…
But it’s a real thing

Ah!

Since I'm currently on 14.x.y, that's probably why I had a good laugh (to no detriment on your part, mind) :)

Siri and I have (mutually) decided to not share apartments <smile>

Regards, splifingate

128GB storage? Hello Starting price of $750 ($779 sim-free) for the mini.

Prores on the iPhone, that’s why some of us need 1tb. And it’s gonna beautiful. I have my doubts about the supposed portrait mode for video (since others have tried and failed miserably the past few years), but Prores on the phone will be awesome, so many more professional adopters coming.

Great sweetener for my purchase of the 13 mini next year sometime - just before it's discontinued, which I have a feeling could be any time next year, not next September....

YES! Finally! 128GB should be base model all the way!

Ps: Who in the crazy world needs a 1TB phone in their pocket?
I do since I like to record in 4k with my Sony A6400 and save to my Iphone using a lightning cable to SD card adapter. technically I do this with my Ipad pro 11 which is only 256gb but I need this 1tb for that instant save to phone and let it upload to icloud

I hope there's no price increase of course - but the cost of shipping these things out of MLC has increased significantly during the last 18 months.

Meh, show me a redesigned phone. Forget all these minuscule changes. Not enough to make people upgrade.

Don’t get me wrong, people WILL upgrade “just because” but don’t you guys think it’s time for a refresh? Sick of buying the “same phone” with camera upgrades and a “faster chip” inside.

Same here. I purchased my iPhone X ( 256gb ) with the intention loading it with music files but never really used it for that purpose, and with the streaming service I use just content to download a few albums when desired so not using the memory to it's full potential. My next phone will be 128gb max as that is all I will need. Also agree with your comments regarding memory cards as they give you the option to upgrade storage cheaply when required but sadly Apple has and never will follow this path. Cannot see myself upgrading soon though as all new phones seem to concentrate on enhanced camera functions that I would not use.

And the most important thing, would the entry price be the same as last year's 128GB? Or would it be the same ( hence a price drop )

And considering some are using iPhone Pro to shoot RAW, 1TB option shouldn't be a surprise at all.

1tb on a phone ?

Ridiculous
Perhaps for George Dawes' collection of match three games, however for videographers shooting in 4K/60fps it may prove to be a useful size.

"You didn’t mention the codec you’d shoot with, so I chose one. For UHD (3840x2160) at 60 fps ProRes HQ and 2-channels of 48kHz 24-bit audio using the max storage of 256GB in an iPhone X would give you around 19 minutes. Cinema 4K (4096x2160) would be a minute or so less. You’d achieve increased record time by choosing a codec with a lesser data rate and/or 30 fps." - via

I don’t see how more people, who are buying the iPhone 13 for the astronomical price it’s selling at aren’t on this train with you.
Why get a new pro who’s main real upgrade is the camera - but turn the features on and you get 19 minutes of recording. This is just hilarious to me that a crowd that considers function and design above all else, at whatever cost, a non issue.

The iPhone just got redesigned.
The target market of every new iPhone is not the previous generation owners, but the 2, 3, or more generation older owners. The iPhone 13 might not be a significant upgrade for 12 owners, but it's definitely a big upgrade for X, 8, 7/older iPhone owners (5G, new design, night mode, etc).

Every year, it's shown that more and more people are keeping their phones longer (thus Apple's focus for services and longer OS support).

For you, you can wait for the Titanium iPhone next year (maybe). Or you can opt for mid-low-range Android where they change their back colors and design every 6 month (while the internals are pretty much the same year by year) if you like having different looking phones every year.
