this is misunderstood , they will change to usbc from usbA, thats all
That is my thought. It is the adapter that is changing to usb-c, not the charge port on the iPad itself. Guess we will see in a couple of days.
I really wish Apple would finally go USB-C on the iPhone too. That alone would make me upgrade. Have standardized connectors for iPhone, iPad, and MacBook Pro would be extremely convenient. I wonder if USB-C is added in the 2018 iPad Pro, if that port would support Thunderbolt 3? It does not on a $1299 MacBook so I assume not. Apple should not be asking $1300 for a 12" laptop with the specs it has. That's an $800 notebook tops.
Series 3 non-cellular do not have ceramic back. They have composite.
nope, current 3rd gen Non-LTE models have composite as wellAll the Series 2 and Series 3 watches already have a ceramic back so the price is already factored in...the only models with composite are Series 0 and Series 1.
As someone who wears a continuous glucose monitor, I can tell you, we will not have non-invasive continuous glucose monitors (CGM) anytime soon. The technology for a CGM has just recently become good enough to use reliably. These reliable models are all invasive. Optical CGMs are a LONG way away. I wish I were wrong, but I just don't see this happening on a watch before the end of the decade.
If that’s the case they can keep the Apple Watch. I wouldn’t pay more than the series 3 is currently priced and I wouldn’t buy a series 3 at its current price even if it’s one year old. I’ll just keep my old Apple Watch and stop using one when it dies. It’s nice to have but it’s definitely not worth the price it costs, let alone a bigger one.Series 3 as the base model and the Series 4 be a higher tier device, both with ceramic backs. Series 1 discontinued.
I can't see the 'new' Macbook be lower priced and also include Touch ID....
How are you saying something so “matter of fact”, when you wouldn’t know?
Do you think Apple makes any sense at all recently? Look at this travel package:
- MacBook: USB-C to USB-C
- Previous gen iPhone as work phone: USB-A to Lightning
- iPhone XS: USB-C to Lightning
- iPad: USB-A to Lightning
- Apple Watch: USB-A to wireless charging puck
- AirPods: USB-A to Lightning
- Apple pencil: Lightning port
Think about charging all these devices at night in a hotel room and what kind of mess that would be cable and adapter wise! At least moving one more device to USB-C is slowly getting to a standard. The MacBook and iPad are on a similar path, so for them to share the same I/O would make sense.
These don't work?

Nevermind, not available yet on the the market.
That is incorrect. All the Series 2 and Series 3 watches already have a ceramic back so the price is already factored in...the only models with composite are Series 0 and Series 1.
Well you already need USB-C for your MacBook if you’re traveling with all updated Apple products. It does get confusing though because Lighting and USB-C look similar at a glance.

Maybe because it actually makes sense?
The Apple Pencil should have had a female Lightning port to begin with. That way if your pencil is low on battery life, you can just use a cable, plug it in to the iPad, and you're still able to use it.
Why they chose a male connector for the pencil is beyond me.
Nice, thanks jarman, wasn't aware of that![]()
I think iMac was rumored for 2019...probably March.Interested in iMac updates. Hopefully we hear more about that soon.
Also I love Apple's 12" Macbook...wish I had gone for that over my Macbook Pro honest. Gonna be real bummed if they start making major changes to it.
