I'm down to 0. Cancelled iTunes Match, moved all my music to an external drive for backup and switched to spotify. Use plex for TV shows and movies so nothing's actually in iTunes. I don't even use the software anymore.

I've hear of spottily -- why did you choose that over iTunes?

Is spotify a full-fledged media player? Or is it limited to music?

Music only. $10 a month unlimited access to pretty much all music available except a few select artists. I spent at least $10 a month on iTunes anyway. This is a huge money saver for me.

My iTunes Library is purely made of music.

9989 songs
790 albums
78GB in total

I'm only 20 so who knows how big it will be in ten years time! My music tastes change quite a lot...

This is just the music

62412 items, 173:02:32:34 total time, 1.594.61 GB

61,739 of those are lossless.

Itunes handles my large collection like a champ

I currently have 212,904 songs, at 592:00:23:03 total time, 1,515.75 GB
19,545 Albums
I only use Itunes to manage my music and keep it all on one drive.

Yeck. Really, guys?

I used to have my 80GB+ iTunes library. But now that's completely unnecessary. Spotify + Netflix = no need for a local copy.

Also I never understood the point of cataloging video in iTunes. All it does is force you to launch a bloated, slow app in order to watch.

You're not going to win the competition for the largest iTunes library then, are you? :D

It's the only easy way I'e found to get the video playing over my Apple TV.

For when shows aren't on Netflix.

Ah, well there ya go. I use a Boxee Box. Yes, it's now unsupported, but I got five of 'em for $150 on eBay. Boxee has a little streaming app to give the BB access to whatever folders of videos you have. Seems to support most formats.

Why rent when you can own?

Growing up I've always collected. I used to have a large vinyl collection that morphed into cassettes, VHS, then CDs, DVDs. For years I owned a record store specializing in rare and hard to find items and could get about anything my customers requested. It was profitable and fun but the reason why I did it was to was to share the music I love with people who appreciated it. I've always been an indie/rock guy. Even played in a few bands. My wife loves music and so does my grown daughter. I collect because I'm leaving a legacy. When I pass on, my daughter will continue to expand upon this thing we've always enjoyed together and will think of me fondly when she does it. It'll be my way of still being with her even when I'm gone.
To me, things like Netflix, Spotify, ect. are disposable. Everything I own is converted from an original, physical source that was once in my possession. Because of this, I can do whatever I want with them. It's a good feeling.

214,668 songs, 596:16:34:!7 days, 1,528.40 GB, 19708 albums

Buy a lot of TV shows from the iTunes Store and whenever I buy a boxset I rip it and throw it in iTunes for Apple TV.

1,282 Albums - 260.59GB
1,271 Movies - 5,350.10GB
5,894 TV Shows - 6,064.26GB

Total - 11.6 TB

I have 580 GB's of music only. I'm not even gonna say how large my TV shows and movies are (Dozens of TB's).

So I'm starting to feel that I need a faster disk for my music library since iTunes is having "performance" issues actually playing songs from my usb external disk nowadays. I'm thinking of buying a 1TB SSD and putting my music library in that one.

1.2TB as of today. This is after I deleted the SD copies of movies.

I used to have 4.7TB when I would actually keep Podcasts. Then realized you never watch those more than once.

All my music has been legally purchased from iTunes or CD's. All movies and TV Shows from iTunes as well.

My Applications folder is nearing 30GB alone. Lots of 1GB+ games.
My Books folder contains 11 books and growing.
I have well over 500GB of music and music videos.

After Black Friday, if Best Buy still offers 20% off $100 iTunes gift cards - I'll probably tack on another TB of data from iTunes. I've been buying a lot more every since I moved out of NJ. No longer have to pay sales tax on digital content so that helps A LOT.

188gb all music. I have cut it in half before and regretted it, constantly come back to artists to recheck and realise I cut it out, learnt that lesson . When people say "omg do you even listen to all that how can you?" yes I have and still do, every album I have an opinion on and it has a place for me. My musical taste is a ever changing journey through my life, I love it :) (although its becoming a unorganised one).
