It’s most likely fake. But I do hope the names are iPhone 11 and iPhone 11R. iPhone Pro just doesn’t sound right and Pro Max is just awful.
I could give a fat rat’s A** about what the name is. Only time I use it is when I have to look for the specific name when buying it. Other than that, that’s it.

I think this release will be as 'muted' as last year's. I think the one to watch for is the 5G one in 2020. Whether that's a big deal or not, it won't stop the masses from believing that it's some sort of 'game-changer.'

You will get two responses...

1. I don't know, that's Apple's job, but 64GB is just not enough in my opinion lol
2. More than what they have now, that's for sure. But they also need to add an SD Card slot like Android, because my phone should never be limited to just the built-in storage, it's anti-consumer. (Translation: Enough storage for my giant pr0n collection, with an option to offload it to a card, when I actually need the on-board storage for more important things or my S/O keeps eyeing me and my phone.)

EDIT: Removed "At least 1TB"

That's the thing; they complain about the size, but never specify how much they need. From a consumer perspective, I can understand an SD (or similar) card slot. On the business side, that would cost Apple since people can get more capacity for cheaper elsewhere.

Also, Apple's free iCloud, while nice to have it, is still pathetic at only 5 GB. I would like it to at least match the iPhone's base capacity. So right now, what, 32, or 64 GB? And if it increases, iCloud should match that. As I said, it's nice that they offer a free version, and they don't have to do that. However, it's so little compared to current capacities, they might as well not have it at all.

I agree but who leaves their phone out on a table at a bar or coffee shop that is not within view? Are you taking your phone out, putting it on the table, and completely turning around away from the phone while you converse with someone?

Even leaving it out within your field of vision is highly risky. It's a small item, and a momentary distraction is all it would take for somebody to walk off with it.

The Watch Series 4 had quite a bit of buzz last year. The phones? Not so much. I'm looking to see what they do with iPads and watch.

To walk off with it, yes. But it was clearly said to have it on the table and someone drain your battery by then placing their device on yours. Not stealing it. Like really, you’re not going to see that?

Jeez, it fascinates me so much some times, that people will go out of their way to justify Apple being lazy and scared and not including really needed features- oh, my phone battery is already low, i would NEVER need two way charging- guess what- new phone battery is fine and it would not drop by 50% if I charge my AirPods from time to time while outdoors. Oh, it's not up to Apple standarts. As if ALL Apple products are highest and above standarts (see- acc quality, Mac keyboard failure rate).
Just say as it is- Apple is not focusing on iPhones any more, X was the last major iPhone and from now on they are milking other resources and it is fine, just don't pretend like you really were rooting for needed features not to be in iPhones, because *thinks for reason*
In a vacuum sounds great -but Apple continues to sell previous models for many years and this will bring confusion - and more importantly - next year - what do you name it?

iPhone (Sep 2020 edition)
iPhone Pro (Sep 2020 edition)
iPhone Pro Max (Sep 2020 edition)
They could just do as they do with computers and (frequently) iPods. I.E. iMac[year]

I shudder to think of the wailing and predictions of doom if a rumored feature (wireless charging) doesn't actually happen. One reason why I dont get overly excited about rumors. I personally don't care if it has it or not. But to some it will be as if their baby was kidnapped. Even though the feature was never official.

Same here. If it's not ready, then that's the way it is. Why worry over mice nuts?

If they do drop the numbers I can’t see them selling the previous years iPhones anymore. It seems like they are barely adding many major features these days. They already discontinued the X because the XS was so similar to it. I can see them discontinuing the XS as well once the 11 or whatever it’s called gets announced today.

I can especially see them discontinuing older “X” series phones if the rumours of them making a new SE phone are true.

Here's the deal...what gets stored on an SD-Card? Apps, photos, movies, TV shows, critical personal data, text files? Who gets to decide that? The consumer? Apple? How does Apple keep that data secure, given their privacy focus? What happens when the SD Card wears out (they do, photographers tell me) or the slot won't read after that phone accidentally gets dropped a couple of times (case or no case, doesn't matter)? Who responsible for the SD card then and recovering the data? Apple? The SD Card maker? What happens when/if the card is removed accidentally by the user, or their child? Does the phone stop working correctly and forces you to get an SD Card before it will work again? While you're vacationing just outside of Prague? Or sunning it up on Sardinia? Or on the flight home when you realize that your kid flushed it down the toilet or dropped it on the floor of the A380? What happens if someone finds it? Are those racy photos of your wife, g/f, s/o encrypted? If so, can the SD card keep up with the Photos app when you're sightseeing? Can it keep up with video? 4K/60p HEVC video? Or does it buffer? Which cards work, which don't? Should Apple support all cards, even the crap ones you have left over from some other device you got rid of but forgot to eBay the SD Cards?

I can literally go on for another 500 words...it's a rabbit hole. A dark insidious rabbit hole presented as a beneficial customer feature when it's not really.

Agree that 5GB is pretty chintzy, especially considering that cameras are so important to the customer in Apple's eyes, yet they cannot seem to see users needing more than 5GB of space to store them. I pay 99¢ for 50GB and that's enough for me, but 32GB should be the minimum, considering that is the base storage tier for both the entry level iPad (6th Gen) and/or iPhone (7/7Plus). More than that is another debate entirely.

I see your 18W charger and raise you a 45W charger on my Note 10+ :) Fast charging is definitely huge.

Jealous...of the charger! The only negative that hopefully will continue to be improved-upon, is the speed and wattage of wireless charging. I know Samsung is making strides here as well, so hopefully we’ll get to an industry standard in the 20+ watt range sooner than later.

Apple probably decided milking the profit from standalone charger sales is more important than matching Samsung's reverse wireless charging.

Hahaha this place is a miracle :D

10+ pages of whining about a phone that hasn't even been revealed yet.

"Must. Have. My. Voice. Heard. Now." :p

That’s literally all this thread is lmao it’s pretty sad. Everyone is so miserable.

Amazing that people base their entire decisions on the totality of the unsourced rumors, not the actual product.

Isn’t it amazing? People on this site hate Apple and think the event will be total and utter garbage without having seen any of it.

I just want to read normal/rational comments. Majority of posts on here are just sooo exaggerated.

Given that Qualcomm's reverse charging operates at 4.5W and Apple has been shipping a 5W WIRED charger for eons, it's pretty laughable to assume it isn't "up to Apple's standards." More than likely the exclusion is a cost-cutting move to maximize margins.
Of course the charging won't be 100% efficient. I'd be very interested to see how many mw a Samsung phone expends to charge another phone by,say 100 mw. If it's really excessive that may explain a lot.

"Just wait a few hours for the keynote"

- People who visited Macrumors a few hours before the keynote
Guilty as charged lol.

Honest question: what would be a good base capacity?

Depends on how you use your iPhone/iPad. I replaced my iPhone and two iPads last year and looked at how much local storage I was using. Turns out I was using roughly 40GB (because almost everything is synced to someone's cloud storage). So both iPads and the iPhone were purchased with 64GB. YMMV, though. Check your phone and see how much you're using.

I wonder which phone this was shot on.

Where is the Apple TV Apple event feed? All I see is the Apple special event October 30, 2018 at the Brooklyn Academy of music .
