Last-Minute Apple Event Rumors: No Two-Way Charging on iPhones, 10.2-Inch iPad Expected, and More

I wonder if Jony Ive will be at the event or narrate any product videos? He’s still on the leadership page on Apple’s website. If he doesn’t narrate then I hope any videos they show are similar to the iPad Pro one Schiller did.

128 GB. To be honest, it’s not even that much about the storage itself but their clear strategic move of upselling which at this point in 2019 is just offensive (from a customer point of view). I was already pissed that they had the nerve to sell a 1,249€ iPhone with only 64 GB last year even though I am only using half of it. It’s a principal thing

if anything they should make sure one has enough cloud storage for the BACKUP. I am tired of relatives complaining and complaining about data loss or their „phone“ being full cuz their 256 GB device cannot back up on 5 GB cloud storage
 
The feature will be useless in a year or so because you will start to see charging tables at restaurants, airports and other public places where you just lay your phone on the table to charge. It will be called Apple Table. Haha
 
I am excited for this event. I managed to be patient all the way from when the X was released and held off buying. To those that aren't excited you got your sugar rush when you jumped in last year or the year before. This year isn't your year.

If you aren't excited by next years phone coming from this model fair enough but stop crying when you know the update cycles are like this now. I am stoked to jump on this version. The latest most mature iteration with the best camera so far.

I am worried about the next phone being a Frankenstein gimped 5G affair. Also that might be the time for Apple to up the price. So for all you kids that already ate their pie don't whine that there is simply not a second helping of dessert this year.

If they announce wacky or higher prices I might be with out dessert myself.

You will get two responses...

1. I don't know, that's Apple's job, but 64GB is just not enough in my opinion lol
2. More than what they have now, that's for sure. But they also need to add an SD Card slot like Android, because my phone should never be limited to just the built-in storage, it's anti-consumer. (Translation: Enough storage for my giant pr0n collection, with an option to offload it to a card, when I actually need the on-board storage for more important things or my S/O keeps eyeing me and my phone.)

My prediction, the new names are just an excuse to charge even more. Giving those rumors, what makes it a Pro over simply a Max. I guess the price

Unfortunately, many companies have been using names that don't quite make sense to the masses. Porsche has an all electric car and a trim level of "Turbo" as well as the Gilette razors that are "Mach 3 Turbo". So Apple took pointers from them and said "Hey, you're not just a Pro; You're a Pro MAX!"

Honestly I think you and a lot of people make upgrading seem so complex.

Fact: Every new iPhone improves upon the last model in at LEAST 2–4 ways.

If you’re on the iPhone Upgrade Program or just sell your current model and put it towards the new model, it is sooo easy to stay up to date annually.

So many comments about “skipping this year” or “should I wait?”

If you stay current you don’t have to wait or worry about what’s next.

True. People absorb rumors as if they were official atoll announcements and then call for Tim to be fired when they don't come true. Funny in a pathetic sort of way.

No I made it very simple. You either upgrade on the first iteration of a new model or you choose the last and then rinse and repeat. Although if you are on the upgrade program you make me very happy as a shareholder. The years I don't buy an iPhone I add to my AAPL shares the amount I would have spent.

I agree but who leaves their phone out on a table at a bar or coffee shop that is not within view? Are you taking your phone out, putting it on the table, and completely turning around away from the phone while you converse with someone?
 
"iPhone Pro" is a bad name. "iPhone Pro Max" would be a truly horrible name. Let's hope they don't go down this path.

Notice how they got rid of 128gb in iPads? That's because it is the sweet spot. 64 not quite enough, 128 good enough for a lot of people, 256 now becoming too expensive for most. Apple are scoundrels.
